Coombe Hill Meadows A QUAIL calling from the field adjacent to the path to the new hide from the canal this morning. (Nick Hughes). Also today 20 Mute Swans, a Greylag, eight Canada Geese, four Gadwalls, 30 Mallards, a Cormorant, a Great White Egret, a Grey Heron, ten Coots and an adult on the canal with five young, two Oystercatchers and a chick, three Little Ringed Plovers, 14 Lapwings, four Curlews, at least two Redshanks, an adult Common Tern and song from Skylark, Reed Warbler, Sedge Warbler, Whitethroat, Lesser Whitethroat, Blackcap, Chiffchaff and Reed Bunting.
