Forest of Dean     An ALPINE SWIFT flying S over Pope’s Hill, just before 5pm, but no further sign. (John & Viv Phillips). A Firecrest at Speech House at 6:10am and a Wood Warbler at Woorgreens at 6:30am. At Nagshead below Lower hide near the road, a male Pied Flycatcher and a Spotted Flycatcher. (MK). A Cuckoo singing in the Eastbach area, from mid-morning onwards, heard from Forge Hill, – first cuckoo heard from this location in several years.

Awre     Two WHISKERED TERNS flying N at 9am with two BLACK TERNS and two ARCTIC TERNS. Earlier a first-year LITTLE GULL. (John & Viv Phillips).

Frampton     From Splatt Bridge this morning a Marsh Harrier and a Grasshopper Warbler. (Jeremy Squire). This evening on the flashes four Black-tailed Godwits, four Whimbrels, two Little Egrets and a Cetti’s Warbler. (MK). At 8:30pm tonight on the Sailing Lake three BLACK TERNS and two Common Terns also a Whitethroat in the bushes in the lane at the end of Vicarage Lane. (Bill Church).

WWT Slimbridge     11 summer-plumaged BLACK TERNS flew across the Top New Piece to the Dumbles at 12:10pm. (David Creber/Roberta Goodall).

Cheltenham      On Charlton Kings Common this morning a Cuckoo, two Tree Pipits, a Meadow Pipit, two Garden Warblers, three Willow Warblers, a Blackcap, a Chiffchaff, two Yellowhammers and c30 Linnets. (Chris Furley). Two Swifts flew S over Benhall this afternoon. (David Norman).

Tirley Sandpits     Six Stock Doves, seven Skylarks, 8+ Blackcaps, five Red-legged Partridge, five Chiffchaffs, 8 +Whitethroats, a Green Woodpecker, seven Swallows, three House Martins, a Lapwing over, a Raven, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, two Yellowhammers, a Spotted Flycatcher,  a Lesser Whitethroat and a Greylag over. Cleeve Hill     A Short-eared Owl this morning on the wall turning right out of masts car park. Also pair of Stonechats. (Tom Mabbett).
