May Hill/Newent Woods area     This morning a LESSER SPOTTED WOODPECKER, two Firecrests, seven Garden Warblers, a pair of Spotted Flycatchers, three Redstarts, eight Meadow Pipits, ten Siskins and at least three Crossbills. (Andy Jayne).

WWT Slimbridge      Two Little Ringed Plovers and a Mediterranean Gull on South Lake at 2:45pm. (Mark Hobson).

Cold Aston     Five singing Corn Buntings along the road from the village to the A436 and two Yellow Wagtails by the muck heap near Notgrove. (Steve Brown)..

Gloucester     At Over ponds SO818194 a Kingfisher, a male Cuckoo and a  Cetti’s Warbler singing. On Castlemeads marsh SO821185 a pair of Linnets, probably nesting. At Port Ham (near the Lock keepers Cottage) SO821184 a Cetti’s Warbler singing, a Reed Bunting singing, a male Great Spotted Woodpecker and a begging juvenile. At Sudmeadow SO819185 a male Cuckoo (Ian Elphick).

Coombe Hill Meadows     Two Mute Swans with four cygnets, a Greylag, a pair of Shelducks with six well grown young, 17 Mallards, a Teal, two Grey Herons, two Oystercatchers with two young and 25 Lapwings, a female with three small young, a female with two small young, three males and a flock of 13 adults and two flying juveniles, two female/immature Ruff, two Oystercatchers with two young, a Green Sandpiper, a Redshank, a Snipe, two Cuckoos, 11 Pied Wagtails, a male Yellowhammer and two Roe Deer grazing beside the north scrape. Ashleworth Ham     This morning two Mute Swans, three Canada Geese, 21 Mallards. a male Wigeon, two male Teal, three Coots, a Grey Heron, two Little Egrets and a Green Sandpiper. (Les Brown).

Symonds Yat    From the viewpoint today the Peregrine pair and just one juvenile showing at the nest site, a Sparrowhawk, a Red Kite, a Kingfisher, a Marsh Tit, a Pied Wagtail, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, two Jays, Song Thrushes, Buzzards, Stock Doves, Swifts and House Martins. Also 12 Fallow Deer, a Red-necked Footman moth, a Hornet, Painted Lady butterflies and a Lesser Stag Beetle. (Chris & Phil Andrews).

Tirley Sandpits     Five Blackcaps, 12+ Skylarks, a Curlew over, 12+ Whitethroats, a Red-legged Partridge, six House Martins, eight Stock Doves, 14+ Swifts, five Ravens, a Mistle Thrush, four Chiffchaffs, two Great Spotted Woodpeckers, a Green Woodpecker  six Swallows and a male Yellow Wagtail.
