Daneway At Siccaridge Wood GWT reserve (SO935035) a Cetti’s Warbler seen and heard at a pond at the W end of the wood. There were no records from this area during the atlas years, but Cetti’s have been noted nearby in the Stroud valleys before. (Andy Jayne).
Gloucester At Horsebere Brook Flood Storage Lake today 3-4 Whinchats (3 juvs & a female), a juvenile Yellow Wagtail and a juvenile Stonechat. Butterflies included a Green-veined White, several Meadow Browns and a first sighting for this site of a SMALL PEARL-BORDERED FRITILLARY. (Alan Baxter).
Symonds Yat The Peregrine pair and their juvenile male, a Red Kite, Ravens, Buzzards, a juvenile Grey Heron, a Green Woodpecker, four Stock Doves and two Marsh Tits. Also Holly Blue, Small, Large and Green-veined White, Meadow Brown and Gatekeeper butterflies and Hummingbird Hawk Moths. (Chris & Phil Andrews).Symond
Coombe Hill Meadows A pair of Mute Swans with four cygnets, c75 Greylags, four Canada Geese, a juvenile Shelduck, c60 Mallards, four Teal, four Little Egrets, two Grey Herons, a pair of Coot with four juveniles and a pair at the Wharf with two juveniles, c80 Lapwings, two Little Ringed Plovers (ad & juv), a Redshank, four Green Sandpipers, three Snipe, two Stock Doves, seven Long-tailed Tits, some Swallows passing, Sedge Warblers, a Chiffchaff feeding young, a Whinchat, two Pied Wagtails and a Yellowhammer singing.
