Tirley Sandpits     10+ Chiffchaffs, three Great Spotted Woodpeckers, 17+ Swallows, five Stock Doves, two Redstarts (male and female ), 11+ Willow Warblers, a Grey Heron over, 15+ House Martins, seven Whitethroats, three Spotted Flycatchers, two Skylarks, three Yellow Wagtails (2 juveniles), 50+ House Sparrows feeding on maize, three Lesser Whitethroats, a Blackcap and seven Bullfinches. Also a garden Chiffchaff. Birdlip    A juvenile Cuckoo flushed from a hedge on a minor road S of Birdlip, and 30+ House Martins feeding over the village. A Raven over at Edgeworth. (Jon Mercer).

WWT Slimbridge     From today’s Safari two Wheatears, two Hobbies, a Marsh Harrier, 13 Common Terns, six adults and seven chicks and four Grass Snakes. (Paul Daunter).

Coombe Hill Meadows     A pair of Mute Swan with four cygnets, 16 Greylags, 44 Canada Geese, two juvenile Shelducks, seven Gadwalls, 17 Mallards, three Little Egrets, three Grey Herons, a Cormorant over, a Buzzard, two immature Little Ringed Plovers, 54 Lapwings, four Snipe,  an adult male Ruff in breeding plumage, a Common Sandpiper, four Green Sandpipers, 1 or 2 Whinchats, c5 Sedge Warblers, two Willow Warblers singing, 2-3 juvenile Chiffchaffs, five Linnets, a Yellowhammer singing and 1 or 2 Reed Buntings today. Twyning     At Upham Meadow still three juvenile Curlews and at least 15 Skylarks today. (Mike Smart).

Symonds Yat     From Yat Rock viewpoint the Peregrine pair and their juvenile male, Buzzards, Ravens, a calling Goshawk, a Spotted Flycatcher, a Grey Heron, ten Goosanders on the Wye, Stock Doves, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, a Green Woodpecker, Song Thrushes, Jays, Swifts, Swallows and House Martins. Butterflies included Holly Blue, Comma, Common Blue and Holly Blue, Gatekeeper, Meadow Brown, Red Admiral, Small, Large, Green-veined Whites and a Silver-washed Fritillary. (Chris & Phil Andrews).

Forest of Dean     At Nagshead a Treecreeper, a Golden-ringed Dragonfly (pic), a pair of Southern Hawkers, two Emperors (pic), a Common Darter, Azure and Emerald Damselflies, Small White, Peacock and Red Admiral butterflies. In the Parkend Church area a Silver-washed Fritillary, Green-veined and Small Whites and Ringlet butterflies.
