Symonds Yat In the Yat Rock area today the Peregrine pair and two intruding Peregrines, Buzzards, two Goshawks, a displaying pair of Sparrowhawks, a Red Kite, Ravens, two Marsh Tits, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, a Jay, a Song Thrush, a pair of Stock Doves, a Grey Heron, c40 Lapwings, seven Goosanders (4m, 3f) and a Treecreeper. Coombe Hill Meadows Birds today included 29 Shelducks, 605+ Wigeon, c750 Teal, 78 Pintails, c30 Shovelers, a Grey Heron, at least 500 Lapwings, three Golden Plovers, four Snipe, a Black-tailed Godwit, a Curlew heard, at least two Great Spotted Woodpeckers drumming, c5 Pied Wagtails, 15 Meadow Pipits, 20 Fieldfares and a Reed Bunting. Cherington At Cherington Lake this afternoon birds included four Little Grebes, a Little Egret, a Buzzard, two Grey Wagtails, nine Long tailed Tits and a Tawny Owl hooting at 5pm. (John Fletcher).
