Purton This morning a SANDWICH TERN flew S down the canal and spent 5 minutes hunting around the timber ponds. Also a 3rd calendar year Yellow-legged Gull loafing on the river and a Siskin flew W. (Francis Steuck).
WWT Slimbridge An adult WOOD SANDPIPER on the Rushy today, also 65 Black-tailed Godwits, a Little Ringed Plover and a female Pintail. On the Tack Piece five Green Sandpipers and a Little Ringed Plover. On South Lake 87 adult Avocets and 38 chicks, a pair of nesting Little Ringed Plovers and a pair of Oystercatcher with two young. A Cetti’s Warbler singing along the boardwalk, a Cuckoo heard singing from Mid Point and from Zeiss hide a pair of Reed Warblers feeding a juvenile and a Peregrine. 1 or 2 young Grass Snakes in the Dragonfly pool along South Finger and an adult Little Grebe feeding a juvenile at Kingfisher hide.
