Alvington     A WHITE-TAILED EAGLE drifted quite high over Clanna Country Park at 11:30am heading in an easterly direction today. (Paul Woolams). It was seen to fly SE over the Farmers Table café, Tortworth, South Glos at 12:05pm. (Sherri Taylor). Also an a immature Goshawk flew over Clanna Country Park this morning heading W. (Paul Woolams).

Rodborough Common     A BLACK KITE flew NE over the Common at 5:35pm. Last seen heading towards Swifts Hill. It was never close but reasonable bins views in good light. (Francis Steuck).

Hock Ditch     Eight Cattle Egret amongst the cattle in the field on left hand side of Hock Ditch before the sluice early morning but gone by 10am. (Roy Widgery).

Saul Warth     At high tide  80+ Curlews, 18 Bar-tailed Godwits, seven Avocets, landed out on the river like ducks, six Ringed Plovers, two Redshanks, a Little Egret, six Buzzards, 80+ Swallows all N, a Whinchat, three Stonechats, a Whitethroat, a Lesser Whitethroat, four Blackcaps and two Chiffchaffs. Nearby a Weasel ran across the road at Epney early afternoon. (MK).

WWT Slimbridge      Five SPOONBILLS, at least five Little Stints, a juvenile Curlew Sandpiper, two Cattle Egrets, a Ruff, Dunlins and Ringed Plovers from Zeiss hide. A Greenshank, a Whinchat, 10+ Yellow Wagtails, a Peregrine and a Kestrel on the Dumbles. (Slimbridge Sightings/Jeremy Holland). Six Cattle Egrets on the Bottom New Piece, with individual birds flying across to the Longhorn cattle to pick flies distantly seen from Kingfisher hide. A hunting Sparrowhawk from Van de Bovenkamp hide and a Buzzard over Zeiss hide mobbed by at least 20 Carrion Crows. (Chris Newton).

Frampton     Seven Cattle Egrets and a Great White Egret roosted at Court Lake tonight. (Nick Goatman).

Cleeve Hill     In the SE section of the Common a Whinchat, at least five Stonechats, a Whitethroat and a Small Heath butterfly. (Keith White).

Cheltenham    Mid-afternoon at Park Campus Lake a Grey Wagtail and a male Mandarin. Also a Great Spotted Woodpecker. (David Norman). In a garden in Eldorado Road a Spotted Flycatcher with a tit flock. (Keith White).

Purton     This morning highlights included a Goosander, a Mediterranean Gull, a Spotted Flycatcher and a Green Sandpiper. (Francis Steuck).

Painswick     A Great White Egret over westwards at 9:05am near Painswick cemetery SO86761089. Highlights from migration watch 1-3:30pm, SW passage a kettle of 14 Buzzards at 1:10pm, 67 Swallows, 54 Common Gulls and a Spotted Flycatcher. (John Fleming).

Stinchcombe Hill     This evening three Wheatears and 40+ Pied Wagtails, all three hirundine species recorded heading S and plenty of Chiffchaffs and Blackcaps and a female Kestrel. (James Robinson).

Bagpath     Five Red Kites together this evening. (Paul Rich).

Ashleworth Ham     72 birds of 13 species caught in a ringing session. Birds included two Swallows, a Redstart, seven Blackcaps, two Whitethroats, 13 Chiffchaffs, a Goldcrest, nine Long-tailed Tits and 25 Goldfinches. Other birds on the reserve included a Kestrel, 70 Greylags and 40 Canada Geese. Cobney Meadows     Five Mute Swans, an adult and four cygnets, two Teal, ten Mallards, a Grey Heron, a Moorhen, a Snipe, a Buzzard and a Wheatear. (Mike Smart).

Leigh Meadows     Eight Mallards, a Little Egret, a Grey Heron, a Snipe, a Kingfisher, two Yellow Wagtails, two Meadow Pipits, lots of Chiffchaffs calling from the hedges and willows, two Ravens and c200 Jackdaws. (Mike Smart).
