Frampton    At Splatt this morning a Whooper Swan flew S at 8:38am, five Cattle Egrets, a Redwing, a Stonechat and four Swallows. (Gordon Hodgson). On Court Lake two Spotted Redshanks, a Snipe, three Green Sandpipers, two Great White Egrets, ten Cattle Egrets, 34 Gadwalls, 114 Wigeon, 18 Shovelers, 58 Teal, five Tufted Ducks, 52 Mallards, three Cetti’s Warblers, a Chiffchaff and five male Tawny Owls calling. Saul Warth     35 Grey Plovers, c50 Dunlins, a Redshank, two Swallows, three Stonechats and five Cattle Egrets by Saul Lodge. (Gordon Hodgson).

Awre     This morning a Whinchat, seven Stonechats, four Reed Buntings, a Chiffchaff, a Blackcap, two Lesser Redpolls, six Little Egrets, three Teal and a steady passage of Meadow Pipits, Skylarks, three Reed Bunting, a Brambling and a Redwing over. (Lewis Thomson).

WWT Slimbridge    A Short-eared Owl sat on fencepost N of Shepherd’s Hut at 10am. (James Robinson). Also at Middle Point a Whooper Swan S, three Little Stints, a Curlew Sand, a Sanderling, a Turnstone, 400 Dunlins, 24 Grey Plovers and three Stonechats. (Ian Ralphs/Mike Davis). A Curlew Sandpiper, 6+ Ruff and 10+ Snipe from Stephen Kirk hide. (Paul Clark). Also a Marsh Harrier around the site. (Paul Clark/Paul Sadley).

Dowdeswell Reservoir    A Little Egret, two Grey Herons, a Black-headed Gull, a Great Crested Grebe, a few Moorhens and a Grey Wagtail this morning. (Tom Mabbett).

Stinchcombe Hill     Visible migration of Linnets, Meadow Pipits, Chaffinches and a Reed Bunting overhead. On the Hill, two Stonechats, two Redwings and at least five Chiffchaffs. (James Robinson).

Hardwicke     A Barn Owl flew across the A38 S of Hardwicke Court at 2:51am. (MK).

Stonehouse     A Kingfisher and a Buzzard at Ryeford, a Buzzard at Stanley Downton, two Buzzards over the Ocean, and a Kingfisher flew down from Bond’s Mill. Later three more Buzzards over the garden in the afternoon. Also a Great Spotted Woodpecker below Bond’s Mill. (Paul Sutton).

Quedgeley     A pair of Kingfishers between Sims and Rea Bridges on the Gloucester-Sharpness Canal this afternoon. (Mark Hobson).

Winchcombe     Around the Hayles Fruit Farm area three Kestrels, two Red Kites, five Buzzards, two Tawny Owls calling, three Nuthatches, 30 Linnets, a Treecreeper, 13 Long-tailed Tits, two Chiffchaffs, two Pied Wagtails, two Swallows, three Great Spotted Woodpeckers, two Green Woodpeckers, two Ravens, a Jay, a Grey Heron, two Cormorants, seven Mallards, nine Moorhens and a Roe Deer. (John Fletcher).

Ashleworth Ham     A ringing session caught 51 birds including 12 Meadow Pipits, a juvenile Stonechat, two juvenile Chiffchaffs, six Long-tailed Tits, 18 Goldfinches, a Bullfinch and three juvenile Reed Buntings. A Golden Plover flew over and a Lesser Redpoll. (Mike Smart).
