Coalhouse Wharf, Apperley     Belated news of a HOOPOE on the verge of Gabb Lane at 9:44am today at SO8555828654 near the Coalhouse Inn. (Jason Spicer).

Sandhurst     The YELLOW-BROWED WARBLER still by the River Severn today at SO8156023669 between 8:15-9:15am. Park by the church, the walk is about 20 mins, wellies advised. The footpath goes between 2 cowsheds in the farmyard at the end of the lane, this is OK. YBW gets in the hedge between 2 obvious oak trees. Also two Chiffchaffs, one singing, three Bullfinches, 14 Long-tailed Tits, a Goldcrest, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, a Raven, a Buzzard, a Red-legged Partridge and 20+ Stock Doves. Also a BLACK REDSTART at Barrow Farm at 9:50am. (MK).

Gloucester     At Sudmeadow the RICHARD’S PIPIT calling and showing occasionally this morning at SO 80711 17959. (Nick Truby/Bri Thompson/Karle Burford/Ken Hurcombe/Steve Brown/Jake King). Also today a Ring-necked Parakeet flew from Upper Rea towards Hempsted village high up. (Bri Thompson/Karle Burford). A Swallow heading S along the River Severn at Sudmeadow this morning. (Nick Truby). A small flock of Siskins at St Swithun’s Church, Hempsted. A BLACK REDSTART above the South door of Gloucester Cathedral at 11:30am. (Steve Brown).

WWT Slimbridge     A BITTERN in the back reedbed on South Lake this morning. (Martin McGill). A female Goosander in the channel in front of Kingfisher hide. (Julian Gould). A Water Rail from Willow hide. (Matt Lathan/Chris Newton). A Marsh Harrier occasionally putting up Golden Plovers, Lapwings and other birds around the Tack Piece. (Chris Newton).

Ryeford    A drake Goosander on the canal Stroud side of Ryeford double lock at 9:50am. It’s hanging around with Mallards, got spooked, flew E but returned 2 mins later. From Boakes Drive to Ryeford lock a female Blackcap, a Jay and 2 or 3 male Kingfishers. (Paul Sutton).

Stroud     A drake Goosander on the Stroudwater Canal between Chestnut Lane and Lodgemore Lane bridges. Likely the same as the Ryeford bird above. (Mr & Mrs Cormack per Duerden Cormack).

Forest of Dean     Two Goosanders on Woorgreens Lake this morning. Also a Kingfisher. (Owen Follis).

Cheltenham    At 8:30am a redhead Goosander on Pittville boating lake again. Also two Kingfishers. (John Sanders). A Kingfisher this morning flying W alongside the River Chelt as it emerges from Bayshill Road. (Howard Taylor).

Dowdeswell Reservoir    Two Goosanders this morning, also a Cormorant, two Grey Herons, six Black-headed Gulls, three Buzzards and a Raven. (Luke Hunter).

Coombe Hill Meadows     This morning two Mute Swans, 100 Greylags, 50 Canada Geese, 120+ Wigeon, small numbers of Teal, 20 Mallards, six Pintails, three Shovelers, five Grey Herons, a Water Rail squealing, a Coot, a Lapwing, three Snipe, 75 Black-headed Gulls, five Meadow Pipits, a pair of Stonechats, at least one Cetti’s Warbler and 2 or 3 Chiffchaffs and two Little Grebes on the Short Pool.
