WWT Slimbridge On South Lake the BITTERN again, a Kingfisher flew past Martin Smith hide. A Snow Goose with Canada Geese on the tack piece, the Ross’s Goose and Bar-headed Goose with Barnacle Geese and 12 Common Cranes on the Dumbles. A Little Grebe catching fish at the Zeiss hide. (Paul Sutton).

Ashleworth Ham This afternoon a Black-tailed Godwit, 98 Wigeon, 61 Teal, four Pintails, 15 Shovelers, 91 Mallards, a Moorhen, two Grey Herons, five Mute Swans, five Chaffinches, five Redwings, three Long-tailed Tits, 150 Starlings, a Raven and two Buzzards. On the opposite side of the road from Colways Farm entrance two Dunlins, 84 Lapwings, 103 Canada Geese and 92 Greylags. (John Fletcher).

Dudbridge At lunchtime today a Peregrine very low overhead with a kill, headed towards Rodborough pursued by three Carrion Crows. Also two male Blackcaps feasting on Ivy berries along with a Song Thrush, six Redwings and eight Blackbirds, six Lesser Redpolls overhead and a Grey Wagtail. (Steve Pullen).
