Forest of Dean     At Brierley, 30+ Crossbills, 12+ Hawfinches, 50+ Bramblings, 400+ Chaffinches, 100+ Siskins and two Goshawks. At Woorgreens a FIRECREST, a flock of Crossbills over and 40+ Siskins. 40+ Mandarins at Cannop ponds. Two Dippers behind The Fountain Inn at Parkend. (Mark Coller). Four Hawfinches at Crown Lane, Parkend and two Goshawks displaying near New Fancy and Crossbills calling. (Dean Reeves). At Mitcheldean a Marsh Tit coming to the garden bird table all week. Etloe     A Cattle Egret off Moorhen Lane this afternoon. Also a Little Egret, a Little Owl and c500 Redwings. (Lewis Thomson).

Over     A JACK SNIPE flushed by the River Leadon at Over today. (Andy Jayne).

WWT Slimbridge     The DARK-BELLIED BRENT GOOSE at South Finger this morning.(Slimbridge Sightings).

Gloucester    The male BLACK REDSTART still on the Cathedral today. Also a Peregrine. (Ian Sherriffs/Ian Hull).

Eastcombe     A LESSER SPOTTED WOODPECKER in flight across Toadsmoor large lake this afternoon at SO 88066 04142 and 37 Magpies in a field below Vatch Lane, 22 yesterday in the same field. (Michael Cook).

Frampton pools     Four Pintails, four Pochards, a pair of Goldeneyes, 60 Mallards, 33 Teal, 94 Gadwalls, six Wigeon, 17 Shovelers, 41 Tufted Ducks, 36 Moorhens, 198 Coots, a Snipe, five Great Crested Grebes, three Little Grebes, a Cetti’s Warbler, a Chiffchaff , two Lesser Redpolls, five Siskins, 24 Lapwings and 50+ Golden Plovers today. Condicote area    Two Kestrels, two Buzzards, two Red Kites, two Green Sandpipers, 25 Lapwings, five Yellowhammers, a Bullfinch, a Greenfinch, a Nuthatch, a Great Spotted Woodpecker and hundreds of winter thrushes. (Chris Moore).

Westbury-on-Severn     c60 Teal, five Wigeon and a Snipe this morning. (Dan Watson).

Aylburton     This morning at Chapel Hill a Red Kite. This afternoon from Stockwell Lane to Aylburton Warth a MERLIN, a Cormorant, several each Redwings, Long-tailed Tits, Goldfinches, a pair of Bullfinches and a Moorhen. (Martin Vaisey). Also a Peregrine, a Chiffchaff and 53 Shelducks. (Martin Vaisey/Jonny Gentle).

Cheltenham     On the River Chelt as it emerges W of Bayshill Road a Grey Wagtail and a Grey Heron this morning. (Howard Taylor). At Naunton Park, garden birds included a Stock Dove and a Great Spotted Woodpecker, both unusual here, three Redwings, a male Blackcap and a Raven over. two Common Gulls on the playing field. At Leckhampton Hill in Daisybank car park, a Marsh Tit and two Ravens over. In Shurdington Road, a Grey Wagtail. (Steve Brown).

Quedgeley     Garden sightings today included a female Reed Bunting, male and female Blackcap, a male Greenfinch, a male Great Spotted Woodpecker, a Pied Wagtail, 16 Goldfinches, nine Chaffinches and 25+ House Sparrows. Also at least three Foxes and two Hedgehogs in the night. (Steve Pullen).
