Frampton Two SAND MARTINS over the Sailing Lake at 8am in strong winds. Also a Cetti’s Warbler singing near the Sailing Club and a Kingfisher. (MK). Later on five Sand Martins, a juvenile male Goldeneye, a pair of Mandarins, 90 Tufted Ducks, 16 Gadwalls, nine Teal, four Little Grebes, 46 Pied Wagtails, 32 Fieldfares, two Redwings and six Meadow Pipits. WWT Slimbridge At high tide a Grey Plover and a Bar-tailed Godwit on the Dumbles edge and a Knot on the Bottom New Piece. (Ian Hull). The drake SCAUP on the Rushy showing very well. A Great White Egret on and around The Dumbles and another at the back of the ‘Back from the Brink’ exhibit. (Paul Masters).
Sharpness This morning at high tide a Snipe, a Rock Pipit, six Wigeon, ten Cormorants, three Great Black-backed Gulls, five Meadow Pipits and a Kestrel. (Neil Smart).
Coombe Hill Meadows This afternoon a Ruff, five Golden Plovers, two Curlews, 12 Lapwings, 200+ Wigeon, 20+ Teal, three Pintails, five Gadwalls, 20+ Shovelers, 12 Tufted Ducks, ten Mallards, two Mute Swans, two Greylags, a Grey Heron, two Sand Martins heading N, nine Stock Doves and two Greenfinches. Ashleworth & Hasfield Hams Two Greylags, 15 Canada Geese, nine Wigeon; ,18 Teal, 30 Mallards, seven Pintails, four Shovelers and two Tufted Ducks. (Mike Smart).
Halmore Garden birds today included male and female Reed Buntings (1st for 4 years), two Marsh Tits, eight Greenfinches, three Coal Tits and a Nuthatch. (Chris Newton).
