Frampton A Common Sandpiper and two Willow Warblers at Splatt Bridge. A Common Tern with c250 Sand Martins, three Swallows, a House Martin and a Fieldfare at the Sailing Lake. (Gordon Hodgson). This afternoon a Common Tern at the back of Court Lake with 50+ Black-headed Gulls, 500+ Sand Martins and at least 15 Swallows over both lakes, the Ross’s Goose, four Great Crested Grebes and two Gadwalls. Saul Warth A Wheatear and 62 Curlews today. (Gordon Hodgson).
WWT Slimbridge A Common Tern and a 3rd calendar year Mediterranean Gull on South Lake. A Spotted Redshank on the Rushy. A Whimbrel on the Dumbles with a Curlew. (Slimbridge Sightings). Two drake GARGANEYS on the Rushy, later back on the Tack Piece. (Roberta Goodall).
Chalford A male Goosander at Bakers Mill this afternoon. Also a Cormorant, two Mandarins, a Grey Heron and a Marsh Tit nearby. (Jeremy Nottingham).
Ashleworth Ham A drake GARGANEY from the hide but elusive. (Mark Hobson). At least two male Redstarts along Stank Lane and two Shelducks on Hasfield Ham. (Sarah Loaring).
Coombe Hill Meadows A Common Tern this afternoon. (Ian Hull). Eight Mute Swans, five Canada Geese, six Shelducks, two Wigeon, 20 Teal, six Gadwalls, 30 Mallards, 61+ Shovelers, 17 Tufted Ducks, a Little Egret, a Great Crested Grebe, at least two Little Grebes, two Oystercatchers, six Lapwings, 192 Black-tailed Godwits, four Curlews, six Redshanks, 100 Black-headed Gulls, 50 Common Gulls, two Sand Martins, a Cetti’s Warbler, three Blackcaps, at least ten Chiffchaffs and ten Linnets. Forest of Dean A male Hawfinch visited the bird table in Popes Hill today. Several Swallows over Westbury-on-Severn. (Harvey Sherwood). Two male Pied Flycatchers, a male Redstart and a Mandarin from the lower hide at Nagshead today. (Roy Kinchin).
Cotswold Water Park East Sand Martins in good numbers at Pit 125 this morning. Also four Cetti’s Warblers heard and 20+ Great Crested Grebes. (Ian Davies).
