Epney     An OSPREY came from the Whitminster direction at 7pm very high up, between Parkend Bridge and Epney, then turned towards the river at Epney and out of sight. Likely to be local in the morning. (Paul Sutton).

Highnam Woods     Three Nightingales this afternoon. Park in one of the lay-bys and access via the pedestrian gate. Don’t park in gateways, block pavements, pedestrian access, or on private property. The car park open weekends and Bank Holidays 10am-4pm until September (6am-4pm in May). (Lewis Thomson).

Saul Warth     Early morning at high tide at 20 Bar-tailed Godwits, four Avocets, two Grey Plovers, two Redshanks, ten Curlews, a Whimbrel heard, a Common Sandpiper, seven Oystercatchers, a Marsh Harrier flew N, four Common Cranes flew through and 109+ Sand Martins, 14 Swallows and a House Martin all flew N. Also a Lesser Whitethroat 200m S of Saul Lodge at 10am. (MK).

Cleeve Hill     A male RING OUZEL still viewed from the bench below the heather enclosure. (Ian Hull).

Wotton-under-Edge     At Cotswold Edge Golf Course a Barnacle Goose today. (Mike Tranter).

Uley Bury     A Swallow, three Buzzards and small flocks of Goldfinches and Linnets. (David Price).

Dursley    2+ Red Kites over a field with mixed corvids and gulls near to the junction of the A4135 and the B4508 E of Dursley. (Mike Tranter).

Forest of Dean     Three Crossbills at New Fancy View. Two Pied Flycatchers, a male Redstart and a drake Mandarin from Lower hide, Nagshead this morning. (Jeremy Holland/Steve Pullen). At Crabtree Hill 20+ Willow Warblers, four Tree Pipits, a male Stonechat, four Ravens and two Jays. At Cannop Ponds six Mandarins, two Little Grebes, three Ravens, four Nuthatches and a Grey Wagtail. At New Fancy View six Siskins and two Coal Tits. (Steve Pullen).

Breadstone     In the woods, birds included male and female Blackcap, many Chiffchaffs, a Greenfinch, four Goldcrests, a Nuthatch and a Song Thrush. In the fields at least a dozen Meadow Pipits and a Kestrel. Also two male Orange Tips, two male Brimstones, two Commas and a Red Admiral. (Chris Newton).

Lydney     At the harbour three Common Cranes seen flying over Power Station fairly high towards Slimbridge area at 5:30pm, also eight Chiffchaffs, a Willow Warbler, a Cetti’s Warbler, a Blackcap, four Linnets, two Song Thrushes and a female Redstart. At the Fishing Lakes this evening six Tufted Ducks, three Greylags, two Canada Geese, two Mute Swans, 30 Swallows, 20 Sand Martin and five House Martins. (Stephen Curtis & Carol Rushton).

Witcombe reservoirs     Between 10am and 12 noon, a sporadic movement of hirundines N, 141 Sand Martins, 107 House Martins and 40 Swallows. Also a Red Kite circling around. (John Fleming). Also today four Mute Swans, two Greylag Geese, a Canada Goose, seven Cormorants, ten Coots, two Moorhens, 29 Mallards and 9 ducklings. nine Tufted Ducks, a Little Grebe and seven Great Crested Grebes. Hasfield Ham     Along Stank Lane late morning several singing Redstarts heard and four seen (3m, 1f). Also a Willow Warbler, several Brimstones and a Peacock butterfly. (Andy & Sue Gibbons).

Ashleworth Ham     From the hide around midday a Black-tailed Godwit feeding along the back edge of the almost submerged island. Also three Oystercatchers, two Great Crested Grebes and a Grey Heron. (Andy & Sue Gibbons).

Coombe Hill Meadows     Two Mute Swans, a Greylag, seven Canada Geese, four Shelducks, eight Wigeon, 20+ Teal, ten Gadwalls, 20 Mallards, 70 Shovelers, 17 Tufted Ducks, two Great Crested Grebes, 1+ Little Grebe, six Little Egrets, two Grey Herons, 30 Coots, an Oystercatchers, seven Lapwings, 3+ Redshanks, ten Herring Gulls and 20 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, five Skylarks, a Redstart, a Sedge Warbler, c4 Blackcaps and c6 Chiffchaffs. (Mike Smart). Also a drake GARGANEY, a Black-tailed Godwit and two Green Sandpipers. (Graham Smith).
