Coombe Hill Meadows Early this morning a reeling Grasshopper Warbler by the car park. (John Casswell). Other birds today included two WOOD SANDPIPERS still, a Little Ringed Plover, a Ruff, 4+ Redshanks, an Oystercatcher, two Curlews, a pair of Little Grebes, three Little Egrets, eight Grey Herons, a Common Tern, a Sedge Warbler, three Reed Warblers, 2+ Whitethroats, 1+Cetti’s Warbler, a Swift, a Cuckoo, a male Bullfinch and two Reed Buntings. WWT Slimbridge From the Estuary Tower this morning eight Grey Plovers, three Sanderlings, two Turnstones and a brief, distant WOOD SANDPIPER. (Andy Jayne/Paul Rich). A WOOD SANDPIPER, presumably the same bird, from Zeiss hide at 4:30pm. (Slimbridge Sightings). The female Red Crested Pochard still on South Lake today. (Jeanne Vitkovskis).
