Elmore Court At the Rewilding Project from the public footpath along Broadmeadow Bank Ditch birds this morning included the Little Ringed Plover still, 18 Lapwings, a Little Egret, a Mute Swan, two pairs of Shelducks, a female Tufted Duck, six Mallards, a Cuckoo, four Stock Doves, a Sedge Warbler and two Whitethroats. Coombe Hill Meadows This evening birds included five Mute Swans, two Greylags, three Canada Geese, four Gadwalls, 40 Mallards with several broods of ducklings, seven Tufted Ducks, a Grey Heron, two adult Oystercatchers feeding two medium sized chicks, four Avocets with four small chicks, c5 adult Lapwings with five chicks, three Little Ringed Plovers, 11 Curlews flew in by dusk. Also two Yellow Wagtails, five Pied Wagtails, a Cuckoo and a Cetti’s Warbler. (Mike Smart).
