Monday 11th March 2024

Purton     This morning birds included a 2cy/1st-winter CASPIAN GULL feeding over tidal floods for a few minutes, then flew inland E with a mixed flock of large gulls, five Mediterranean Gulls, six Rock Pipits and 280 Chaffinches flew N. (Francis Steuck).

Amberley     At Theescombe Lane a Red Kite, three Buzzards and two Ravens over the house this morning. On feeders male and female Blackcap, three Greenfinches, three Siskins (2m, 1f) and 65 Goldfinches gathering pre-roost in tops of birch trees in the garden. (Phil Williams).

Sharpness     Late afternoon two Rock Pipits, four Cormorants, two Oystercatchers, 12 Wigeon, a Grey Heron, a Little Egret, eight Redshanks, two Mistle Thrushes and a Kingfisher heard. (Clare Glanville).

Slimbridge     A Peregrine on St John’s Church tower today. (Warren Gill).
