Forest of Dean    This morning six Goosanders (1m, 5f), a male Teal at Woorgreens, at Nagshead lots of Siskins and a Goshawk. At Cannop ponds, ten Mandarins (8m, 2f), three Little Grebes, two Grey Wagtails and a Nuthatch. (Steve Pullen).

Leigh Meadows     A Shelduck, ten Mallards, a Curlew and at Haw Bridge/Wainlodes, 750 Black-headed Gulls and two Common Gulls and a Greenfinch. (Mike Smart).

Cobney Meadows     Two Mute Swans, five Shelducks, ten Wigeon, two Gadwalls, five Mallards, six Pintails, two Coots, a Moorhen, two Oystercatchers, seven Curlews (including the first observation this year of colour-ringed Blue Red Red, which was originally caught as an adult in September 2010 at its wintering area on the estuary near Lydney, and has returned to this area every spring and summer since then, so it is at least 15 years old), a Redshank, 500 Black-headed Gulls and a Common Gull. Also c50 Fieldfares with a few Redwings in the tops of the willows. (Mike Smart).

Tewkesbury    At Mitton on the wet field immediately south of Bredon’s Hardwick, 110 Wigeon, 110 Teal, three Mallards, two Oystercatchers, a Lapwing and 57 Black-headed Gulls. (Mike Smart).
