WWT Slimbridge    On the Rushy two WHOOPER SWANS and ten Bewick’s Swans and also a Spotted Redshank. Around the reserve a Ringed Plover, two Peregrines, a female Marsh Harrier and three unringed Common Cranes. (John Fletcher/Andy Jayne). Coombe Hill Meadows     This morning four Mute Swans, four Shelducks, 100+ Wigeon, ten Gadwalls, 700 Teal, 20 Mallards, 170+ Pintails, 70+ Shovelers, 60 Tufted Ducks, two Great Crested Grebes, two Little Grebes, a Cormorant, two Little Egrets, four Cattle Egrets, a Buzzard, a Red Kite, 15 Coots, two Oystercatchers, ten Lapwings, five Dunlins, 21 Black-tailed Godwits, nine Curlews (including one with yellow ring AJ which nests across the river and was observed in winter 2023/24 in Ireland), at least one Redshank, five Herring Gulls, 50 Black-headed Gulls, ten Skylarks, two Chiffchaffs singing and four Reed Buntings singing.
