Frampton From Splatt Bridge this morning on the flashes eight Great White Egrets with three Little Egrets, three Grey Herons, four Redshanks, two Lapwings and four Shovelers, and a Cuckoo calling from the 100-Acre. At the sailing lake, a Cuckoo over, four Common Terns, 50+ Swifts with 150+ hirundines. (Steve Pullen).

Coombe Hill Meadows This morning 33 Mute Swans, five Canada Geese, five Gadwalls, c50 Mallards and at least five broods of ducklings, a pair of Shoveler, six Tufted Ducks, two Cormorants, a Great White Egret, five Grey Herons and 12 Coots. Waders included two Oystercatchers, eight Avocets, one pair with three two-day old chicks, a Little Ringed Plover, six Lapwings, two Redshanks and a Curlew. Also five Swifts, five House Martins, at least two Yellow Wagtails. Song from Skylark, Redstart, Reed Warbler, Sedge Warbler, Whitethroat, Blackcap, Chiffchaff and Reed Bunting. (Mike Smart).
Saul Warth From Hock Ditch a male Stonechat, five Curlews, four Oystercatchers, six Shelducks, a Grey Heron and 100-200 hirundines over the treatment works, mainly House Martins. (Mike Davis).
Longney This afternoon birds included seven Canada Geese, 13 Mallards, two Moorhens, a Shelduck, a Grey Heron, a Little Egret, two Reed Buntings, five Swallows, six Linnets, a Greenfinch, a Stonechat, four Long-tailed Tits, six Goldfinches, two Stock Doves, three Song Thrushes and 35 Lesser Black-backed Gulls.
