Coombe Hill Meadows This evening 13 Mute Swans, a Canada Goose, five Teal, 60 Mallards, two Great White Egrets, two Little Egrets, a Grey Heron, a Water Rail calling, six Coots and several full grown chicks, a pair of Moorhens on the canal with chicks, three Little Ringed Plovers, 18 Lapwings, two Green Sandpipers, a Redshank, 20 Swallows and ten House Martins, still two or three each of Sedge and Reed Warblers singing. Massive corvid roost in Long Pool, many hundreds of birds, mainly Jackdaws and some Carrion Crows and Rooks. (Mike Smart).
