Thursday 18th July 2024

Coombe Hill Meadows     Two Common Terns, an unringed Great White Egret, a Little Egret,  a Common Sandpiper and a juvenile Little Ringed Plover this morning. (Les Ditchburn).

Nailsworth     At least 1200 Swifts flew S and SSW down the Nailsworth Valley along with six early departure Swallow. Also seen a pair of food carrying Sparrowhawks, a Kestrel, a Red Kite and c12 Buzzards. (Terry Grant).

Painswick    2410 Swifts SW over the house between 1pm and 6pm today. Also a Hobby  flew S at 1:42pm. (John Fleming).

Winchcombe     This evening, 8+ Long-tailed Tits and 29 Swifts wheeling over the garden. (Andrew Worthington).

Ashleworth Ham     A ringing session this morning caught 41 birds including three Redstarts, two Sedge Warblers, ten Whitethroats, three Lesser Whitethroats, four Blackcaps, a Willow Warbler, a Chiffchaff, two juvenile Kingfishers, a Linnet and five Reed Buntings. Forest of Dean    Four Peregrines over Coleford this morning, two adults and two juveniles. (Geoff Fawcett).

Horsley    Three Red Kites and two Buzzards over where silaging is in progress near Horsley tip. (Tanya Allen).

Cheltenham     A probable Osprey, very high, flew S over Hatherley at 1:30pm today. (Dave Tomlin & Mary Harris).
