WWT Slimbridge     A WHITE-TAILED EAGLE resting on the Severn off of the reserve at 7:40am but pushed off to Purton when the tidal wave passed. It then rested in Oaks viewable from Zeiss hide and Estuary Tower. It flew south at 11:15am and was lost to view over Sharpness at 11:30am. (Martin McGill). It was a tagged Isle of Wight bird and apparently spent the evening in the estuary according to its satellite tag. It is 22 months old and was released in 2022. (Info – Ian Hull). The juvenile PECTORAL SANDPIPER from Zeiss hide early then relocated to South Lake for a while. A BITTERN flew over the Decoy towards Long Ground at 12:45pm. (Slimbridge Sightings). A BITTERN from Zeiss hide at 12:20pm. (Les Ditchburn). A Wheatear along the Summer Walkway. (Duncan Dine). From Willow Hide a hunting female Sparrowhawk. From the Rushy, a Snipe and several Greenshanks. A Great White Egret on the Bottom New Piece. On the Top New Piece from Zeiss hide late afternoon three Marsh Harriers seen together hunting and on a bird carcase, and two adult Common Cranes with a juvenile. In the grounds a female Grey Wagtail. (Chris Newton).

Frampton pools     An OSPREY still, a Hobby, the adult Yellow-legged Gull, six Little Egrets, 15 Swallows, three Sand Martins, eight House Martins, three Mistle Thrushes, 15 Gadwalls and a Willow Warbler today. (Nick Goatman).

Cleeve Hill     In the east section of the Common this afternoon a pair of Kestrels, a family of Stonechats and 70 Goldfinches. Also some Red Admiral migration. (Keith White).

Aylburton Common     A Hobby over the garden attempting to catch hirundines at 5pm today. (Martin Vaisey).
