Forest of Dean     At Mallards Pike six Goosanders (3m, 3f) and three Greylags. At Woorgreens three Goosanders (1m, 2f), 18 Mandarins, 12 Greylags, two Siskins and a Treecreeper. At Cannop by the Stone Works male and female Siskin, 2+ Coal Tits and a Great Spotted Woodpecker on the feeders. Nearby two Ravens. A Dipper behind the Fountain Inn. (Stephen Curtis & Carol Rushton). From New Fancy View birds included a Goshawk displaying and another distantly, a Red Kite, two Buzzards, a Raven and a Siskin. (Elaine Arundel/Ed Drewitt). Three Redwings at Speech House. At Dean Heritage Centre 15 Mandarins and two Mallards. On Soudley Lower Pond two Little Grebes. At Cannop Ponds two Grey Wagtails, three Nuthatches, three Mute Swans, nine Mandarins, nine Wigeon, three Siskins and a Buzzard. At Woorgreens two Stonechats, a Goldcrest, two Crossbills, a Hawfinch, a Nuthatch, five Mandarins and a Buzzard. (Elaine Arundel). Four Hawfinches on bird feeders at Pope’s Hill at midday today. WWT Slimbridge     On South Lake three Sand Martins, 66 Black-tailed Godwits, six Cattle Egrets and 60+ Avocets. From Estuary Tower two Little Stints on the island. On the Tack Piece an adult SPOONBILL, two WHOOPER SWANS, two Bewick’s Swans and an Egyptian Goose. A Red Kite flew upriver. 126 White-fronted Geese on the Dumbles. 16 Cattle Egrets at Shepherd’s Patch. (Slimbridge Sightings/Magnus Carter/Warren Gill).

Frampton     On the flashes N of Splatt Bridge a Stonechat, a Marsh Harrier, a Little Egret, 12 Curlews, a Redshank and a SPOONBILL flushed by dog walkers flew towards Saul Warth. At the sailing lake 10+ Reed Buntings, 20+ Linnets and 20+ Chaffinches, a Cetti’s Warbler and two Chiffchaffs sunbathing out of the wind. (MK).
