Also two Swallows, four Sand Martins, 28 Fieldfares, 20 Linnets, a male Reed Bunting, five Shovelers, 50 Tufted Ducks and two Oystercatchers. (Nick Goatman). Splatt Bridge at first light today a Great White Egret, a Little Egret, a Marsh Harrier, a Buzzard, 50+ Curlews, two Oystercatchers, four Redshanks, two Shovelers, seven Gadwalls, eight Shelducks and 12 Mallards on the flashes, and two Mute Swans and a Kingfisher on the canal. Saul Warth 12 LITTLE GULLS flew NE through Saul Warth at 10:30am with a few Black-headed Gulls. A Red Kite flew through NW over Awre at 10:15am. (Les Ditchburn/MK). At high tide a male Marsh Harrier flushed 30 Teal from the Warth, and eight more on the river, 32 Shelducks, 27 Curlews, three Grey Plovers, five Ringed Plovers, nine Dunlins, a Common Sandpiper, six Oystercatchers, a Little Egret, four Skylarks, five Sand Martins, four Meadow Pipits and two Chiffchaffs. WWT Slimbridge Five LITTLE GULLS flew up river and cut inland past Estuary Tower at 11:20am. (Paul Rich). From South Finger a male Goshawk with a Moorhen kill this morning, then flew S with it.
Wotton-Under-Edge Three Swallows flew across the playing fields at 3:30pm. (Jon Dexter).
Leckhampton A Red Kite near Pilley Bridge at 8:30am and later a pair of Buzzards drifted S. A Raven through and two more over the Eagle Tower. From Burrows Field to the church another Raven, a Green Woodpecker, a Greenfinch and several singing Chiffchaffs. Also three Peacock Butterflies. (Steve Brown).
