Forest of Dean      c80 House Martins gathering in trees amongst scrub on Crabtree Hill this lunchtime and a Clouded Yellow nectaring on Heather there too. Also a female Goshawk. Three Crossbills in the Drybrook Valley. (Pete & Marjo Lewis). Today at Soudley, two Little Grebe families, a female Tufted Duck with eight fully grown juveniles, three Mandarins with juveniles, 15+ Spotted Flycatchers, a Blackcap, a Wren, a Song Thrush, three Chiffchaffs, two Grey Wagtails and a Moorhen Family. Elmore Court     In the rewilding area early afternoon, three Whinchats and five Stonechats in the reeds next to the footpath, also seven Buzzards, a juvenile Kestrel, a Raven and a Green Woodpecker, Butterflies included several Small Coppers, a Comma and a Holly Blue. (Steve Pullen).

Frampton pools     At 5pm the Ross’s Goose with Barnacle Geese, the Bar-headed x Snow hybrid, the Yellow-legged Gull, a pair of Stock Doves and a family of Blackcaps feeding on insects. (Mark Makin/Paul Dibden).

Nailsworth     At least 18 Swifts flew S past Windsoredge between 7:57pm and 8:01pm. (Terry Grant).

Withington    Near the village a Hobby alarming the Swallows, a Marsh Tit, a Kingfisher, 15 Mallards, a Little Grebe, two Mute Swans and four Swifts. (Tom Mabbett).

Cheltenham    This afternoon a Peregrine flew over Montpellier, closely pursued by a gull. Also a Sparrowhawk on the lawn in Shurdington with a Woodpigeon. (David Norman).
