Sharpness     At SARA this morning a BLACK REDSTART, that showed well and then flew W. Also a Great Crested Grebe flew upriver, nine Redshanks, two Common Sandpipers, 50+ Canada Geese, a Buzzard and a calling Lesser Whitethroat. (Oliver Paisey).

Bourton Downs     Four QUAILS calling in cereal fields. Also two juvenile Redstarts nearby. (Andy Lewis).

Saul Warth     Between 6-10am four Little Egrets, 104 Curlews, 12 Avocets, 48 Dunlins, a Greenshank, a Black-tailed Godwit, 54 Shelducks, three Common Cranes flew S, an Arctic Tern, four Kestrels, a juvenile Marsh Harrier, 20+ Yellow Wagtails, three Pied Wagtails, two Grey Wagtails, five Chiffchaffs, three Whitethroats, a Lesser Whitethroat and a male Blackcap. WWT Slimbridge    An OSPREY from the afternoon safari flew downriver. (Roy Kinchin). A BITTERN from the Zeiss hide flew from the island towards the Van de Bovenkamp hide. (Mike Davis). On the Tack Piece a WOOD SANDPIPER, ten Green Sandpipers, a Greenshank and five Yellow Wagtails. Two Lesser Whitethroats near the Goose House Hut and a Spotted Flycatcher from the Pill Box view point. In the Decoy a Mandarin and a Kingfisher. (Slimbridge Sightings/Dot Jones/Martin Price).

Edge     At Rudge Hill NR. c20 Spotted Flycatchers along the wide path at the top edge of the woods and around the lower trees and scrub. Also a Buzzard and a Raven over, a Chiffchaff and a Jay. Also Chalkhill Blues and Small Heath butterflies. (Paul Sutton).

Frampton pools     Four Greenshanks, two Spotted Flycatchers, three Willow Warblers, a Cetti’s Warbler, a Reed Warbler with young, 12 Swallows, eight House Martins, an adult Yellow-legged Gull, 12 Cormorants, six Mistle Thrushes, a Peregrine, 16 Gadwall, 29 Mallards and four Tufted Ducks. Stroud    At Capel’s Mill this morning a Dipper, four Kingfishers, two Grey Wagtails and a Mandarin. (Steve Pullen).
