WWT Slimbridge A BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER on the mud shelf as the tide dropped at 2pm but it walked out of view to the left and wasn’t relocated, but could well still be on site. Also a juvenile Knot and a Garganey from Robbie Garnett hide. (Tim Jukes). A Great White Egret, three SPOONBILLS and two very showy BITTERNS. (Ian Hull). Saul Warth A RED-NECKED PHALAROPE flew in at 11:52am and landed on the river. It did a couple of spins then after 5 minutes flew to the middle of the river and was lost to view. It wasn’t relocated. Also 80 Curlews, a Greenshank heard, 17 Avocets, 20 Shelducks, a female Shoveler, 16 Little Egrets, four Common Cranes, a Peregrine, three Kestrels, a Grey Wagtail, four Pied Wagtails, a Wheatear, a Chiffchaff, seven Swallows and two Common Blues. This evening ten Cattle Egrets near the Frampton herd, two Wheatears, a Lesser Whitethroat, two Chiffchaffs, a Blackcap, two Great Black-backed Gulls, two Kestrels, two Buzzards and 60 Shelducks. Frampton From Splatt Bridge early this morning, 12 Cattle Egrets with the cattle on the flashes then flushed by a Fox. Also two Marsh Harriers, 30+ Pied Wagtails over with a few Yellow Wagtails, two Grey Wagtails, two Willow Warblers and three Lesser Whitethroats. (Steve Pullen).
Stinchcombe Hill At midday, below the car park to Drakestone Point three Spotted Flycatchers, two juvenile Redstarts and a juvenile Pied Flycatcher. (Craig Brookes).
