WWT Slimbridge A GLOSSY IBIS flew N high over Middle Point at 11am. (Ian Hull). This afternoon it was reported at Frampton Court Lake then flew towards the sailing lake. (per Mike Davis). It returned to Robbie Garnett hide at 3:45pm, then flew out to the estuary at 4:15pm. Also the Tundra Bean Goose, of unknown origin, on South Lake. From Zeiss hide two Hobbies, a WOOD SANDPIPER, BITTERN and three SPOONBILLS. At Middle Point a Whinchat, 300+ Goldfinches, three Yellow Wagtails and 14 Avocets. (Tim Jukes/Ian Hull/Dot Jones). Eastleach Downs This morning a flock of 15 Corn Buntings, a Whinchat, a Yellow Wagtail and a fly through female Marsh Harrier. (Duncan Dine).
Berkeley shore This morning a Green Sandpiper, a Turnstone, two Common Sandpipers, three Ringed Plovers, three Dunlins, three Curlews, three Canada Geese, two Wheatears, a Yellow Wagtail, two Reed Buntings, a Rock Pipit, 20+ Meadow Pipits, 60+ House Martins, two Cetti’s Warblers and 12 Linnets. Painswick Beacon Today’s Vismig watch included 390 House Martins, 262 Swallows, seven Swifts, two Tree Pipits, a Hobby and a Common Gull. Three Red Kites and five Buzzards were drifting around the area. (John Fleming).
Sheepscombe This afternoon at 4pm several pairs of House Martins still attending nests on a house. Also a Goshawk over with a Buzzard, a Kestrel and a Raven. Butterflies nearby on Sheepscombe Common included several each of Common Blue, Brown Argus, Small Copper and a Clouded Yellow. (Rob & Petra Crofton).
Cotswold Water Park East At Whelford pools this afternoon on Pit 111 11 Red Crested Pochards, a Kingfisher, two Great Crested Grebes, five Tufted Ducks, two Coots, two Moorhens and a Reed Warbler. On Pit 111a 55 Coots, three Great Crested Grebes (1 juv), seven Mallards and two Mute Swans. On Pit 111b 16 Cormorants, five Tufted Ducks, eight Coots, two Great Crested Grebes and five Moorhens. On Pit 127 40 Lapwings, 31 Greylags, ten Canada Geese, 15 Mallards, a Jay, three Chiffchaffs, three Buzzards and a Common Sandpiper. (John Fletcher).
