Forest of Dean     A ringing session today in the Kensley pools area E of Woorgreens reserve caught 170 Lesser Redpolls and a Green Woodpecker. A juvenile male Sparrowhawk caught here yesterday. Also the first Redwings of season in small groups. (Rob Husbands).

Guscar Rocks/Aylburton Warth     At high tide 60 Greylags, 190 Canada Geese, seven Shelducks, 22 Wigeon, 120 Teal, seven Mallards, two Cormorants, ten Grey Herons, two Oystercatchers, 12 Golden Plovers, 11 Lapwings, 455 Curlews, 35 Redshanks, 560 Black-headed Gulls, 20 Common Gulls, 50 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 60 Herring Gulls, 20 Skylarks, 20 Meadow Pipits, a Raven and 30 Linnets. Chavenage Lane area     12 Crossbills in a hedge, some flying for a drink in a puddle before flying off E at 3:15pm, a late Whinchat, 12 Stonechats, four Corn Buntings, 14 Red Kites and 180+ Skylarks. (Terry Grant).

Frampton pools     A Little Owl, 38 Cattle Egrets came into roost, a Great White Egret, five Little Egrets, ten Pochards, 82 Wigeon, 20 Shovelers, 17 Tufted Ducks, 20 Teal, 64 Gadwalls, 52 Mallards, 273 Coots, 40 Moorhens, two Green Sandpipers, four Stonechats, 38 Siskins and a Lesser Redpoll today.
