WWT Slimbridge A SPOONBILL on the Tack Piece this morning, later relocating to the Top New Piece. Two Dark-bellied Brent Geese and 16 TUNDRA BEAN GEESE on the Dumbles. Frampton pools An aberrant Tufted Duck with 143 Tufted Ducks, six Gadwalls, six Teal, six Shovelers, two Pochards, six Canada Geese, seven Greylags, 36 Cormorants, 188 Coots, 52 Siskins, a Redpoll, 14 Grey Herons, three Blackcaps, a Raven, a Kingfisher, 200+ Redwings and 30+ Fieldfares today. Halmore Birds around the woods today included a calling Goshawk, a Kestrel, a Kingfisher, two Bullfinches, a Marsh Tit, two Goldcrests, two Nuthatches, a Treecreeper, c20 Redwings and two Fieldfares, and at dusk, a calling male Tawny Owl. (Chris Newton).

Severn Hams The Leigh Meadows, Cobney Meadows and Coombe Hill Nature reserve explored by canoe 11:30am-2:30pm. 2000+ ducks in total, the majority were Wigeon, but also large numbers of Teal, Pintails, 200 Mallards, Shovelers and a few Shelducks. 50 Canada Geese, 200 Lapwings, an Oystercatcher heard, a Green Sandpiper, 200+ Fieldfares, 20 Redwings, three Chiffchaffs and two Cetti’s Warbler.
