WWT Slimbridge The SPOONBILL on the Tack Piece today. Two WHOOPER SWANS and 21 Bewick’s Swans on the Rushy. 196 Avocets and 202 Black-tailed Godwits on South Lake. From Estuary Tower over high tide c80 Golden Plovers, 13 Common Cranes, a Sand Martin flew NE and 188 White-fronted Geese. Also around the grounds a Great White Egret, a Little Egret, four Oystercatchers, Chiffchaffs and Cetti’s Warblers calling and a Firecrest by the Decoy hide. Saul Warth At high tide this morning 66 Shelducks, 20 Teal, a female Pintail on the Warth, two Avocets, 62 Curlews, six Oystercatchers, six Grey Herons, two Little Egrets, 50 Fieldfares, ten Redwings, 12 Pied Wagtails, five Meadow Pipits, four Skylarks, four Chiffchaffs and five Reed Buntings. Coombe Hill Meadows From the car park and flood berm at 2pm 26+ Coots, 18 Mallards, ten Teal, six Shovelers, 12 Tufted Ducks, two Moorhens, two Green Woodpeckers, two 2 Goldfinches and two Greenfinches. (Shaun Curtis).
Chelt Meadows At 3pm 78 Wigeon, ten Mallards, two Shelducks, a Reed Bunting, a Green Sandpiper on the Chelt and three Black-headed Gulls. (Shaun Curtis).
