Cotswold Water Park West The GREAT NORTHERN DIVER still on Pit 87 today. (Jon Mercer).
WWT Slimbridge Birds today included a SPOONBILL, nine Redshanks, c500 Wigeon, 100+ Teal, six Bewick’s Swans, 160 White-fronted Geese, 140 Barnacle Geese and the Ross’s Goose on the Tack Piece. On the Rushy a Barnacle Goose, eight Pintails and three Redshanks. On the Dumbles 11 Common Cranes, an Egyptian Goose, 11 Bewick’s Swans, a Red Kite, a Marsh Harrier, a Buzzard, two Skylarks and eight Sand Martins. Also four Roe Deer. From Willow hide a Cetti’s Warbler and a Chiffchaff. On South Lake 187 Avocets, 96 Black tailed Godwits, an Oystercatcher, a Little Grebe, five Little Egrets, two Common Cranes, a Kingfisher and two Buzzards. From Kingfisher hide a Little Grebe, a Marsh Harrier, a Great White Egret and two Kingfishers at the nest hole. (John Holland/Slimbridge Sightings).
