Maisemore     This afternoon a Little Grebe, six Canada Geese, a Common Sandpiper, 25 Fieldfares, ten Goldfinches, nine Moorhens, 15 Mallards, a Chiffchaff, five Long tailed Tits, 14 Jackdaws, a Cormorant, two Mute Swans and four Roe Deer. (John Fletcher).

Berkeley shore     On today’s WeBS count birds included eight Teal, 204 Mallards, 37 Wigeon, eight Shelducks, four Grey Herons, a Little Egret, five Redshanks, 17 Curlews, nine Lapwings, four Turnstones, three Dunlins, 33 Black-headed Gulls, 134 Common Gulls and 12 Cormorants. Also a Yellowhammer, 150+ Fieldfares, 300+ Redwings and 25 Song Thrushes including 6+ in song. (Jon Haw).

WWT Slimbridge     The FIRECREST at midday between Martin Smith and Robbie Garnett hide, a fairly showy Cetti’s Warbler at the Martin Smith hide and on the Tack Piece four Bewick’s Swans, two White-fronted Geese, 17 Ruffs, three Snipe and seven Common Cranes (2 unringed). A Peregrine, a Marsh Harrier and a Red Kite mobile around the site. (Steve Brown/Oliver Paisey). 48 White-fronted Geese on the Tack Piece today. (Ian Ralphs).

Forest of Dean     A female Brambling in a mixed flock in woods opposite Mary Rose gallery, the road from Coleford to Parkend. (Geoff Fawcett).

Coombe Hill Meadows     This morning five Mute Swans, 260 Greylags, 220 Canada Geese, an Egyptian Goose, c1500 Wigeon, 12 Gadwalls, c1500 Teal, 50 Mallards, 720+ Pintails, 40 Shovelers, three Pochards, ten Tufted Ducks, ten Coots, a Water Rail calling from the canal near the boardwalk, 50 Black-headed Gulls, ten Skylarks over, 20 Fieldfares and three Chiffchaffs. Cobney Meadows     This morning five Shelducks, 65 Lapwings, three Ruff (1m, 2f) with Lapwings and 50 Black-headed Gulls. (Mike Smart).
