Ashleworth Ham     A CEF ringing session today caught 59 birds including three Redstarts, two Sedge Warblers, a Reed Warbler, four Whitethroats, a Chiffchaff, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, 16 Long-tailed Tits, a Linnet, 11 Goldfinches and two Bullfinches. Cleeve Hill    This morning 19 Stonechats, a Whinchat, two Redstarts, three Tree Pipits, nine Ravens, a Reed Bunting and seven Corn Buntings. Also Whitethroat, Chiffchaffs, Garden Warbler, Linnet, Yellowhammer and an Adder. (Ian Ralphs).

Along the path to Lower hide c12 Crossbills flying from one tree with more calling in nearby trees. At Lower hide (closed due to wasp nest) six Crossbills in the dead tree front left of the viewing screen. At Woorgreens Lake a Grey Heron lying down possibly anting. (Andy & Sue Gibbons). Cheltenham     The white Sparrowhawk, seen last year, is back again with its family (at least 3 birds) in the trees along Evesham Road between Pittville Park and the Racecourse roundabout. They are very vocal. At 5.30pm the white bird was by UCAS bus stop. (Steve Money).

Cassey Compton     A Little Egret on the river, a Green Woodpecker, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, a family of Mistle Thrushes, four Swallows and two Buzzards heard. In the general area several Red Kites including two on a roadkill hare. (Steve Brown).

Rendcomb     From the bridge, a Dipper feeding with a Robin on the weir, a Grey Wagtail, two Mistle Thrushes, a Red Kite, a Jay, a Grey Heron, two Nuthatches and c10 House Martins. A mix of species flycatching an emergence of insects including a juvenile Marsh Tit and a juvenile Goldfinch. (Steve Brown).

Nailsworth     A pair of food-carrying Swifts which are presumably still feeding young in a nest. Also a flock of 40+ tits, mainly Blue and Great in a bird-bathing area in the garden, and a Jersey Tiger moth this morning. (Terry Grant).
