WWT Slimbridge    This morning a Green Sandpiper, 14 Ruff, a Knot, a showy Snipe, the leucistic Lapwing and a Black Swan on the Rushy. Elmore Court     In the rewilding area early morning birds included a Spotted Flycatcher, 3+ Whinchats still with 5+Stonechats, 12+Reed Buntings, a Cetti’s Warbler, two Green Woodpeckers, five Cormorants over, a Sparrowhawk, three Buzzards, a Kestrel, a Roe Deer and a Fox. (Steve Pullen).

Kingscote     2+ Hobbies, a Buzzard, four Spotted Flycatchers, 200+ Swallows and 60+ House Martins today. (Terry Grant).

Ashleworth Ham     A ringing session today caught 49 birds including two Whitethroats, three Blackcaps, 17 Chiffchaffs, three Willow Warbler and five Reed Buntings. Other birds on the reserve included a Sparrowhawk, a Skylark, ten Swallows, ten Linnets and two Ravens. WWT Slimbridge     The TEMMINCK’S STINT reappeared again today on the south island from Zeiss hide late morning. Also from Zeiss hide three WOOD SANDPIPERS, three SPOONBILLS, a BITTERN, a Cattle Egret, two Yellow Wagtails, a Knot and at least five Ruffs. (Paul Masters/Slimbridge Sightings).

Berkeley shore     Between 1:30-3:30pm 47 Turnstones roosting, three Wheatears, two Common Sandpipers, eight Oystercatchers, four Curlews, three Canada Geese, 24 Mallards, 12 Yellow Wagtails, four Skylarks, 12 Linnets and a Budgerigar flying S. (Thomas McClung).

Kingscote     At least three Hobbies, one adult bird chasing off at great speed a female Goshawk and then a Buzzard. Also a LESSER SPOTTED WOODPECKER, four Ravens, three Red Kites, four Buzzards, a Sparrowhawk and two Kestrels. (Terry Grant).

Frampton pools     Two SHAGS at lunchtime on the sailing lake then flew off N. This evening ten Swifts, two Marsh Harriers, a Hobby, a Yellow Wagtail, an adult Yellow-legged Gull, 80+ Swallows, 50+ Sand Martins, 30+ House Martins, two Willow Warblers, six Teal, 28 Tufted Ducks, 30 Gadwalls, two Cattle Egrets, three Little Egrets and seven Grey Herons. WWT Slimbridge     A BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER on the mud shelf as the tide dropped at 2pm but it walked out of view to the left and wasn’t relocated, but could well still be on site. Also a juvenile Knot and a Garganey from Robbie Garnett hide.  (Tim Jukes). A Great White Egret, three SPOONBILLS and two very showy BITTERNS. (Ian Hull). The Tundra Bean Goose, of unknown origin, on South Lake. (Oliver Paisey). A Knot on the Rushy this afternoon. (Heather England/Martin Price). Nine SHAGS past Middle Point at 11:30am (Ian Hull) and three more past Sharpness just after. (Ian Ralphs).

Saul Warth     A RED-NECKED PHALAROPE flew in at 11:52am and landed on the river. It did a couple of spins then after 5 minutes flew to the middle of the river and was lost to view. It wasn’t relocated. Also 80 Curlews, a Greenshank heard, 17 Avocets, 20 Shelducks, a female Shoveler, 16 Little Egrets, four Common Cranes, a Peregrine, three Kestrels, a Grey Wagtail, four Pied Wagtails, a Wheatear, a Chiffchaff, seven Swallows and two Common Blues. This evening ten Cattle Egrets near the Frampton herd, two Wheatears, a Lesser Whitethroat, two Chiffchaffs, a Blackcap, two Great Black-backed Gulls, two Kestrels, two Buzzards and 60 Shelducks. Nailsworth     An OSPREY flew south over Nailsworth at 8pm. (Terry Grant).

Painswick Beacon     Migration watch from 6:15am to 8:30am, fairly quiet but an OSPREY flew south at 6:35 am, then carried on down the Painswick valley. 16 Swallows and five alba wagtails were the only other migrants. (John Fleming).
