Frampton     A female RED-FOO TED FALCON flew through the end of the sailing lake at 3:30pm but no further sign by dusk. (Nick Goatman). On the sailing lake today no sign of the White-winged Black Tern but four Common Terns, the adult Yellow-legged Gull, a Black Swan, a Little Egret, a Kingfisher, a Cetti’s Warbler, 25 Canada Geese, four Greylags, four Tufted Ducks, 22 Mute Swans, four Great Crested Grebes including a small chick, a Grey Heron, two Jays and a Stock Dove. WWT Slimbridge    On the Tack Piece 22 Little Egrets, 11 Green Sandpipers, two Ruff, a Great White Egret and two Little Ringed Plovers. At Middle Point a Whinchat, a Stonechat and a Yellow Wagtail. Elmore Court     In the rewilding area 6am-7am today, four Spotted Flycatchers, a Whimbrel over and a Common Sandpiper both heard only, a Red Kite, four Buzzards, two Little Egrets, five Green Woodpeckers, six Reed Buntings, four Skylarks, 16+ Linnets, eight Stock Doves and two young Roe Deers. Ashleworth Ham     A CES ringing session caught 53 birds including nine Redstarts, a Sedge Warbler, 17 Whitethroats, three Lesser Whitethroats, a Blackcap, a Stonechat, four Bullfinches and two Yellowhammers. Other birds on the reserve and nearby three Skylarks, two Ravens and five Linnets. Frampton     The moulting adult WHITE-WINGED BLACK TERN on the sailing lake all day until 8:50pm at least. (Mike Davis/Mark Coller/Nick Goatman et al). Also today a small flock of Crossbills (Mark Coller/Andy Jayne), the adult Yellow-legged Gull, 5+ Common Terns, two adult Common Gulls and two Ravens. This evening eight Little Egrets, two Lesser Whitethroats, three Whitethroats, a Cetti’s Warbler, a Green Woodpecker and 4+ Spotted Flycatchers. (Nick Goatman).

WWT Slimbridge     A WHITE-WINGED BLACK TERN flew into the Rushy at 3:45pm landed briefly but was flushed after just 1 minute and flew off. (Les Ditchburn/Peter Chapman). Earlier a Garganey and two Cattle Egrets from Robbie Garnett hide and a Spotted Redshank, a Common Sandpiper and a Garganey on the Rushy. (Warren Gill). Westbury-on-Severn     A CASPIAN TERN, earlier in Herefordshire, on Westbury Strand at 6pm but with the rising tide steadily moving upriver, first to Garden Cliff and finally Priding until it flew South inland from Priding at 7:39pm. (Andy Jayne et al).

Saul Warth     This afternoon 78 Curlews, 60 Avocets, 31 Shelducks, six Cattle Egrets distant with cows in the Noose, four Little Egrets, five Grey Herons, two Kestrels, two Buzzards, four Pied Wagtails, ten Goldfinches and a Chiffchaff. (MK).

Coombe Hill Meadows     This evening ten Canada Geese flew over at dusk, five Teal, 55 Mallards, still a female with ducklings on the canal, three Grey Herons, 22 Moorhens, 21 Lapwings, a Green Sandpiper, three Skylarks, ten House Martins, five Swallows, 500 Jackdaws and 50 Carrion Crows. WWT Slimbridge     On the Top New Piece six Cattle Egrets and a Pink-footed Goose of unknown origin. A BITTERN briefly from Van de Bovenkamp hide. A Garganey from Robbie Garnett hide with seven Gadwalls late afternoon. Also on the Tack Piece four Yellow Wagtails and four Little Ringed Plovers. The Tundra Bean Goose and a Ruff on South Lake. Cirencester     A female Hobby near Cirencester today. (Richard Tyler).

Saul Warth     This afternoon 57 Curlews, a Shelduck, two Little Egrets, two Kestrels, a Mistle Thrush, six Swallows, ten Pied Wagtails, a Yellow Wagtail, 12 Linnets, seven Goldfinches and a male Marsh Harrier blown S. (MK).

Dowdeswell Reservoir     A Kingfisher, an adult and young Great Crested Grebes, lots of Reed Warbler activity with fledged young, two Grey Herons, two Mallards, two Moorhen families, a Grey Wagtail, two Lesser Black-backed Gulls and two Spotted Flycatchers. Daglingworth     An adult and six young Grey Partridges feeding in stubble fields tonight. (Andrew Morrison).

Nailsworth     A family party of four Marsh Tits in the garden this morning. In Chavenage Lane later, 30+ Whitethroats, eight Chiffchaffs, three Willow Warblers, three Blackcaps and a Red Kite. (Terry Grant).

Frampton    Two Cattle Egrets and six Little Egrets in the Court Lake roost this evening. On the sailing lake the adult Yellow-legged Gull and four Common Terns. (Nick Goatman). From Splatt Bridge this morning two Great White Egrets briefly, a Cattle Egret by the church, a Kestrel, a Buzzard and a Kingfisher, a Common Tern headed from the river, 15+ young Chiffchaffs in the bushes, four Swifts and a Fox. WWT Slimbridge    This morning from Robbie Garnett hide, 14 Green Sandpipers, three Little Ringed Plovers, a Ruff, a Great White Egret, two Little Egrets, seven Yellow Wagtails, five Pied Wagtails and a juvenile Grey Wagtail. Also the Black Swan. A Marsh Harrier over the Dumbles into the Top New Piece. On South Lake the Tundra Bean Goose of unknown origin, a Garganey, a Spotted Redshank, two Common Sandpipers and four Little Grebes (2 juvs). (Steve Brown/Mark Hobson). Elmore Court     In the rewilding area this afternoon, six Stonechats (2 ads, 4 juvs), three Reed Buntings, two Sedge Warblers, two Reed Warblers, five Skylarks, a Little Egret, three Green Woodpeckers, six Mistle Thrushes, four Buzzards and a Kestrel. Frampton     At Court Lake the Ross’s Goose, six Great Crested Grebes (2 juv), two Common Terns, a Cattle Egret, a Grey Heron, a Cormorant, two Great Spotted Woodpeckers, two Bullfinches and 3+ Willow Warblers. At the Sailing Lake 5+ Sedge Warblers, 10+ Reed Warblers (6+ juvs), two Common Terns and 10+ Emperor Dragonflies. (Paul Clark). The adult Yellow-legged Gull was on the Sailing Lake early morning. Sharpness     A MANX SHEARWATER flying mid-channel level with Lydney viewed from SARA at 10am but lost in the murk. Also a Common Tern. (Oliver Paisey).

WWT Slimbridge     A juvenile Little Ringed Plover and 12 Green Sandpipers from Robbie Garnett hide at 10am. From Zeiss hide mid-morning waders included two Spotted Redshanks, 60 Black-tailed Godwits, two Avocets, three Ruff, two Green Sandpipers and 22 Dunlins, also a SPOONBILL and 25 Shovelers.
