Berkeley shore     A drake COMMON SCOTER came up on the tide and was off of Severn House farm at 10:10am. (Neil Smart).

WWT Slimbridge    This morning the male WHITE-SPOTTED BLUETHROAT still in the reedbeds at Middle Point showing occasionally. (Slimbridge Sightings). A BITTERN showing well on the Top New Piece from Zeiss hide. Two BEARDED TITS on the Top New Piece in reeds by the seawall. Also two Greenshanks, three Little Ringed Plovers, four Green Sandpipers, 24 Dunlins and a Grey Wagtail with a small group of Pied Wagtails from Zeiss hide. A Spotted Redshank on South Lake. Dowdeswell Woods     This evening three Spotted Flycatchers, two Treecreepers, a Nuthatch, three Goldcrests and Wrens with four fledglings. (Mark Makin).

Aylburton Warth/ Guscar Rocks     WeBS count birds included 80 Canada Geese, six Shelducks, eight Grey Herons, a Buzzard, two Peregrines, four Oystercatchers, two Lapwings, 705 Curlews, including at least seven colour-rings from the 2010-2013 catches and at least four head starts from the Slimbridge 2019 cohort, a Redshank, a Greenshank, a Common Sandpiper, 245 Black-headed Gulls, three Common Gulls, three Herring Gulls, five Skylarks, five Swallows, ten Meadow Pipits, three Reed Warblers, three Ravens, 100 Rooks, 50 Carrion Crows and 50 Linnet. Saul Warth     Early morning three Grey Herons, four Little Egrets, a Red Kite, a juvenile Kestrel, 100 Avocets, a Whimbrel, 68 Curlews, two Dunlins, 12 Oystercatchers, a first-summer Mediterranean Gull, an adult Common Gull, eight Swallows, ten Pied Wagtails, a Whitethroat, two Chiffchaffs and two Reed Warblers. Forest of Dean     At Staple Edge 30+ Crossbills feeding on hemlock, 16 Tree Pipits, a Siskin, several Willow Warblers, a Chiffchaff, three Chaffinches and a Goldcrest. (Rob Husbands).

Nailsworth     This afternoon a small southerly movement of 60+ Swifts this afternoon. Garden birds included a Sparrowhawk, a Willow Warbler and a juvenile Marsh Tit. (Terry Grant).

Coombe Hill Meadows     This morning 157 Mallards, 12 Teal, three Lapwings, four Green Sandpipers, six Coots, 20 Moorhens, four Grey Herons, four Little Egrets, Reed Warblers, Sedge Warblers and Reed Buntings still feeding young, a juvenile Redstart and two Yellow Wagtails. Also a Roe Deer in the river off of Awre Point, three Common Blues, 10+ Gatekeepers, a Black-tailed Skimmer and an Emperor. (MK).

Elmore Court     In the rewilding area this morning, four Stonechats (2ad, 2juvs), eight Reed Warblers, four Sedge Warblers, four Reed Buntings, two Ravens and a Buzzard over. Large numbers of butterflies including Brown Argus and Painted Ladies. (Steve Pullen).

Forest of Dean     At Wenchford a Spotted Flycatcher and a Marsh Tit and good numbers of Golden-ringed Dragonflies along the track between the entrance and the old weir. (Dan Watson). This morning four Swifts at Forge Hill, Lydbrook. (Chris Sullivan).

Winchcombe     From the road bridge over the River Isbourne at Riverside, an adult Grey Wagtail seen feeding a fledged juvenile. (Peter Rodgers). In the garden today, 12+ Long-tailed Tits, a Greenfinch and Goldfinches. Also numerous Large and Small White butterflies and a Gatekeeper. (Gill Worthington).

Bishops Cleeve     For the 8th year running Green Woodpeckers have been successful rearing young, with two juveniles this year. (Alan McIlquham).

On Pit 111b 41 Cormorants, two Tufted Ducks, two Treecreepers, two Great Crested Grebes and seven Mallards (2 ads, 5 ducklings). On Pit 111a five Red Crested Pochards (4 ads, 1 duckling), seven Greylags, 13 Coots, four Great Crested Grebes (2 ads, 2 chicks), male and female Bullfinch and two Mute Swans. On Pit 127 four Common Terns, five Great Crested Grebes (3 ads, 2 chicks), 23 Greylags, 31 Mallards, three Canada Geese, two Green Woodpeckers, a male Bullfinch and two Chiffchaffs. At Kempsford, at Pit 132 a Marsh Harrier, two Buzzards, two Lapwings, two Great White Egrets, two Little Egrets, three Green Sandpipers, a male Ruff, a Greenshank, 17 Lapwings, three Oystercatchers, 28 Mute Swans, two Bullfinches, three Song Thrushes and 13 Long-tailed Tits. Also from Middle Point the SPOONBILL, a Little Egret, a Bar-tailed Godwit, the leucistic Lapwing, a Common Tern and two Lesser Whitethroats. Barnsley Warren SSSI     On the Welsh Way spur, three Redstarts (3m, 1f) seen and others heard, two male Yellowhammers, two Whitethroats, a Bullfinch, two Green Woodpeckers, a Great Spotted Woodpecker and 4/5 Stock Doves. A minimum of 6 each of Red Kites and Buzzards very vocal in the air together. Also a Fox. (Steve Brown).

Hinchwick     This afternoon, near Hinchwick two Spotted Flycatchers on the edge of a conifer plantation at SP12553070 and a QUAIL calling from a nearby field at SP12003033 and at least two Corn Buntings in the hedgerow around the same field. (Martine & Pete Fenn).
