WWT Slimbridge    On the Tack Piece this morning four Green Sandpipers. Two Spotted Redshanks, six Ruff, 62 Black-tailed Godwits and 80 Avocets with four chicks on South Lake. A leucistic Lapwing in a flock of 75, ten Avocets, 15 Curlews, a Dunlin, a Bar-tailed Godwit and two Little Egrets from Middle Point. A Great White Egret from Zeiss hide. Longney Crib     This afternoon four Little Egrets, two Grey Herons, eight Canada Geese, two Stonechats, two Sedge Warblers, two Linnets, five House Martins, two Swallows and a Buzzard. (John Fletcher).

Tewkesbury     On Severn Ham early morning a Grey Heron, two Oystercatchers, 20 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, two Common Terns, two Skylarks, a Sedge Warbler, three Blackcaps, a Whitethroat, seven Chiffchaffs and a Peregrine on the Abbey Tower. (Mike Smart).

Coombe Hill Meadows      The Grundon hide now open again, and the boardwalk repaired but the scrapes are dry. Three Canada Geese, six Greylags, 160 Mallards, a Great White Egret, a Little Egret, seven Grey Herons, a Coot, ten Moorhens, four Oystercatchers, six Lapwings, two Green Sandpipers, a Sedge Warbler, 500+ Jackdaws, 50 Carrion Crows, seven Linnets and three Reed Buntings. Bourton-on-the-Water     The escaped Scarlet Ibis that was in the Fairford area and has been wandering the east of the county since at least last November was at Bourton North Pits today and also at Cotswold Carp Farm Campsite today https://x.com/nick_westmacott/status/1941169967011131397 (per Keith Jennings).

WWT Slimbridge     Six BEARDED TITS (1m, 1f, 4 juvs) in the reeds in front of the Shepherd’s Hut from 9:20am until 10:10am at least. (George Collett et al). Also the male WHITE-SPOTTED BLUETHROAT still in the reedbeds but elusive and quiet, a female Marsh Harrier and a Bar-tailed Godwit on the river. Six Green Sandpipers on the Tack Piece and a Hummingbird Hawkmoth in the Peng garden. (MK). 12 Black-tailed Godwits, five Ruff and two Spotted Redshanks on South Lake. (Paul Clark).

Gloucester     A BLACK REDSTART at Gloucester train station at 2:25pm. It was on the tracks, then on the platform, then on the station roof. (Rob Chapman).

Frampton     From Splatt Bridge early morning, a Grey Wagtail, two Kingfishers, 30+ Swallows, 15+ House Martins, a Barnacle Goose on the canal, five juvenile Pied Wagtails and a pair of Reed Warblers with four newly fledged young. (Steve Pullen).

Forest of Dean     At Nagshead from Campbell hide birds coming in to drink included at least seven Song Thrushes, a female Blackcap, male and female Siskin, a Nuthatch, a female Hawfinch, a male Great Spotted Woodpecker, Coal Tits, a Marsh Tit, Great Tits, Blue Tits, a Treecreeper and fledgling Robins. Hawling    This evening a Chiffchaff, a Yellowhammer, a young Goldfinch, a Whitethroat and a Garden Warbler. (Alan McIlquham).

Forest of Dean    At Woorgreens/Crabtree Hill two Grey Herons, two female Mandarins, a Buzzard, a Raven, a Hobby, 50-60 House Martins, three Swifts, 10+ Stonechats (2 juv), six Linnet and many Dragonflies and Damselflies including 80+ Emerald Damselflies. (Paul Clark). At Flaxley Pool eight Little Grebes, two pairs of Tufted Ducks with 5 and 6 ducklings, three Buzzards, two Mute Swans and many Moorhens. In the Woorgreens area in the evening two Spotted Flycatchers, three Grey Herons, a juvenile Little Grebe and a Great Spotted Woodpecker. (Andy Jayne/John Fletcher).

WWT Slimbridge     A WOOD SANDPIPER from Zeiss hide. Also eight Green Sandpipers. On South Lake four Green Sandpipers, 110 Avocets, two Spotted Redshanks and a Mediterranean Gull. A Greenshank on the Rushy. (Slimbridge Sightings).

Nailsworth     A Peregrine flew S high over Windsoredge. A Hummingbird Hawk Moth in the garden at Windsoredge this lunchtime. (Terry Grant).

Frampton      Around the pools this evening a Spotted Flycatcher with at least two young, two Siskins over, a Common Sandpiper, two Common Terns, four broods of Great Crested Grebes 2, 2, 2 and 1, 40+ Swifts, 20+ Sand Martins, a Cetti’s with young, two Kingfishers and 80 Mute Swans including five cygnets. WWT Slimbridge     The male WHITE-SPOTTED BLUETHROAT still in the reedbeds at Middle Point from the Shepherds Hut. Also the SPOONBILL at Middle Point. A female Goshawk being harassed by corvids on the Tack Piece and the Severn Ground hedges. On the Top New Piece two Spotted Redshanks, seven Little Ringed Plovers and two Garganeys. Ashleworth Ham     A Constant Effort Site ringing session this morning caught 85 birds including six Redstarts (4 juvs), four Sedge Warblers (2 juvs), 24 Whitethroats (19 juvs), six juvenile Lesser Whitethroats, six juvenile Blackcaps, seven Chiffchaffs (6 juvs), a Willow Warbler, two Great Spotted Woodpeckers and six Reed Buntings (4 juvs). On the reserve 20 Mallards and a Grey Heron. (Mervyn Greening/Mike Smart).

Frampton    Around the church this morning, families of five Great Spotted Woodpeckers, four Mistle Thrushes, four Pied Wagtails, six Goldcrests and four Stock Doves. Also three Curlews over and 11 Swifts screaming overhead. (Steve Pullen).

Forest of Dean    At Forge Hill, Lydbrook this evening, a Green Woodpecker calling and flying around the garden. Also Hummingbird Hawk Moth. (Chris Sullivan).

Up Hatherley     A Red Kite over the housing estate opposite Morrison’s at 10:30am. (Andrew Courtman).

Forest of Dean     At Woorgreens Lake early morning a Green Sandpiper and two Common Sandpipers. (Frank Williams). At Greathough Brook a Tawny Owl seen, two Spotted Flycatchers, five Chiffchaffs, a Bullfinch, a Treecreeper, a Marsh Tit and many Nuthatches. Also six Silver-washed Fritillaries, ten Golden-ringed Dragonflies, an Emperor and a Hornet. At Cannop Ponds three Ravens nearby, a pair of Mute Swans with a cygnet and a Grey Wagtail. At Lydney Harbour two Whitethroats, at least three Blackcaps and a Raven. (Stephen Curtis & Carol Rushton).

Newnham/Broadoak    Seven Ring-necked Parakeets between Broadoak and Newnham-on-Severn beside the A48 between 6:40-8am. Some were at Cliff House, the house with the SOLD sign on the left just before the Silver Fox café feeding on apples and visible from the footpath. Others were in trees in Beeches Road, Newnham. All seven were seen in flight together. Three Common Terns flew downriver past Broadoak. (MK).

Tresham      Two QUAIL calling again this evening at 9:40pm E of the village. (Mark Coller).

Forest of Dean     At Nagshead this afternoon a Blackcap, a Garden Warbler, a Spotted Flycatcher, a Hawfinch, a Kingfisher, a bathing Song Thrush and  a Wild Boar family. (Eden Tanner). 20+ noisy Swifts high above Taurus Crafts, Lydney between 8:30-8:45pm, 6+ Swallows feeding noisy nestlings and 2-3 House Martins. At 8:20pm, 15+ House Martins and c6 Swifts high above Forge Hill, Lydbrook and a Grey Heron flying down Lydbrook valley. (Chris Sullivan).

Tresham      Two QUAIL calling this evening at 9:30pm E of the village. (Paul Rich).

Chavenage     A QUAIL calling faintly between 7:48-8am off of Chavenage Lane at ST 84805 95506. (MK).

Newnham-on-Severn     A pair of Ring-necked Parakeets with three juveniles in Beeches Road at 8am. Also visiting Unlawater Lane. This is the first breeding record for Gloucestershire. (Dan Watson).

Gloucester     A male BLACK REDSTART briefly in song at the bottom of Northgate Street by the old Wilkinson’s store at 9am. (Andy Jayne).

Stinchcombe Golf Course     A Spotted Flycatcher and seven Swifts this morning. Also 13 butterfly species including a Silver-washed Fritillary, a Painted Lady, 19 Commas, six Red Admirals, three Peacocks, a Speckled Wood and seven Large Skippers. (Brian Kings).

Frampton     From Splatt Bridge early morning, five newly fledged Swallows from the nest under the bridge sat in a nearby Willow being fed by the parents, a Grey Wagtail, two Pied Wagtails, 12 Greenfinches, a Common Tern and two Tufted Ducks over. (Steve Pullen).

Stonehouse     In the Bond’s Mill area this morning a Chiffchaff, a Cetti’s Warbler, a Song Thrush, a Kingfisher, two family parties of Blackcaps, young Robins and a young Blackbird. Also Banded and Beautiful Demoiselles, Blue tailed and Common Blue Damselflies, Four-spotted Chasers, a Brown Hawker, Emperors, a Scarce Chaser, Commas, Speckled Woods, Small White and Small Skipper.
