Frampton pools     This afternoon four Swallows and 50+ Sand Martins. Later a HOUSE MARTIN and nine Swallows. Also around the pools 32 Chiffchaffs, three Blackcaps, a JACK SNIPE, seven Snipe, 100+ Redwings, 40+ Fieldfares, 20+ Meadow Pipits, eight Reed Buntings, four Shovelers, a Gadwall, 85 Tufted Ducks, a Ross’s Goose, 17 Barnacle Geese, 24 Greylags and four Oystercatchers. Saul Warth     200+ KITTIWAKES this evening, but flew through quickly vanishing into the clag. Cirencester    Two Hawfinches in the tall trees on the side of Cirencester Park lane at lunchtime today. Two Red Kites over the town. (Steve Pullen).

Elmore Court     In the rewilding area on the scrape a pair of Gadwalls, a Tufted Duck, eight Teal, six Mallards, two Mute Swans, a Grey Heron, a Little Egret and four Lapwings. Also two Snipe, two Red Kites, two Buzzards, a Kestrel, c50 Greenfinches in the trees next to the court, six Chiffchaffs, two Goldcrests, 16 Fieldfares, eight Redwings, six Song Thrushes, two Great Spotted Woodpeckers, two Green Woodpeckers, 18 Linnets, two Skylarks and 12 Meadow Pipits. Ashleworth Ham     A Mute Swan, a Canada Goose, 30 Wigeon, a Gadwall, 30 Teal, 30 Mallards and a Chiffchaff today. Nearby a pair of Curlews at Haw Bridge East. (Mike Smart).

Hasfield Ham     From Stank Lane a Buzzard, a Curlew, two Skylarks, 600 Fieldfares, 20 Redwings, a Raven and 15 Carrion Crows. (Mike Smart).

Cotswold Water Park East     The drake LESSER SCAUP still on Pit 111 today at Whelford pools. Sherborne     The OSPREY still today along the Broadwater stream. It caught a fish at 3pm and carried it downstream, past the boathouse and out of sight. Coombe Hill Meadows     Birds today included six Mute Swans, two Greylags, 18 Canada Geese, 12 Shelducks, 160 Wigeon, two Gadwalls, 80 Teal, 30 Mallards, seven Shovelers, two Tufted Ducks, an immature Cormorant, a colour-ringed bird 4Z, ringed at a colony in The Netherlands in early 2024 and seen here last autumn, two Little Egrets, three Grey Herons, four Coots, four Avocets, a pair of Oystercatchers, two Little Ringed Plovers, 12 Lapwings, a Dunlin, a female Ruff flew over, 15 Snipe, a Curlew, two Redshanks, five Skylarks, five Chiffchaffs, 30 Carrion Crows and two Reed Buntings. Witcombe Reservoirs    WeBS count today birds included 11 Canada Geese, two Mute Swans, 130+ Mallards, a female Teal, 25 Tufted Ducks, eight Great Crested Grebes, eight Cormorants (including an adult sinensis type), 11 Moorhens and seven Coots. Frampton    Over the sailing Lake at 1pm, a Swallow with c20 Sand Martins.
On Court Lake a pair of Oystercatchers on the island. (Steve Kear). At the sailing lake birds included 25 Sand Martins, 12 Reed Buntings, 13 Mistle Thrushes, 32 Redwings, a Raven, three Buzzards, a Sparrowhawk, a Curlew, three Stock Doves and six Chiffchaffs. (Oliver Paisey).

Charlton Kings    At least 52 Greenfinches gathering to roost behind the Langton pub early evening. (Tom Mabbett).

Elmore Court     In the rewilding area this afternoon, a Sparrowhawk flushed seven Snipe out of the long grass, a Red Kite, two Buzzards, a Kestrel, a Stonechat, a Reed Bunting, a Chiffchaff, four Lapwings, a Little Egret and four Grey Herons. (Steve Pullen).

Nympsfield     200+ Golden Plovers in the last field coming out of Cockadilly on the Uley side and the neighbouring field next to the reservoir this evening. (David Price).

Dowdeswell     At Lineover Woods, around the car park a Raven, two Nuthatches,, a singing Chiffchaff and a small group of Siskins. (Steve Brown).

Sherborne     A Little Owl near the Water Meadows car park. (Steve Brown).

Rissington     Near the trig point eight Red Kites up together and several more in the distance, two Buzzards and a small flock of Yellowhammers in the game cover. (Steve Brown).

Leckhampton     A female Sparrowhawk on our side gate. (Steve Brown).

Bourton-on-the-Water     A pair of Oystercatchers on one of the islands at the north pits.  Also a pair of Little Grebes on the South Pit – unusual here. (Andy Lewis).

Berkley shore     On the WeBs count this morning in the Pill birds included 86 Wigeon, 37 Redshanks, 18 Teal, four Mallards and three Shelducks. On the shore three Cormorants, two 2 Canada Geese, 18 Shelducks, two Oystercatchers, three Curlews and three Chiffchaffs singing. (Jon Haw).

Berkeley     On the pond on left side of the road approaching Berkley Castle just before 8am four Shovelers, five Shelducks, male and female Goosander and a Green Sandpiper. (Jon Haw).

WWT Slimbridge     A juvenile MEDITERRANEAN GULL on South Lake today. Also a Lesser Redpoll nearby with Goldfinches. The drake Goldeneye in the collection with Eiders. Broadoak     A smart adult summer MEDITERRANEAN GULL amongst thousands of gulls, mostly Common, between Broadoak and Newnham late afternoon. (Andy Jayne).

Highnam     From the Highnam to Over Cycle Path on the Leadon flood plain today a Great White Egret, at least three Little Egrets, a Grey Heron, two Buzzards, a Red Kite, 12+ Coots, five Mallards, six Long-tailed Tits and two Ravens. In the garden a Wren, three Greenfinches, four Chaffinches, a Nuthatch, 6+ Goldfinches and a Great Spotted Woodpecker. (Clare McLeod).

Leighterton     Four Corn Buntings territorially distanced from each other E of the village at 9am, but no song, but plenty of subdued singing from ground based Skylarks. (Brian Kings).

Elmore Court     This afternoon in the rewilding area two Green Sandpipers, four Snipe, seven Lapwings, two Mute Swans, two Canada Geese, 18 Teal, 15 Mallards, a Little Egret, a Grey Heron, three Moorhens, a Barn Owl, four Buzzards, two Kestrels, a Stonechat and 60+ Greenfinches gathering to roost by the Court. Coombe Hill Meadows     Two Mute Swans, a Shelduck, 30 Wigeon, 100+ Teal, 20 Mallards, five Shovelers, seven Grey Herons, a Great White Egret, three Little Egrets, a Buzzard, 20 Coots, ten Lapwings, two Lesser Black-backed Gulls, five Skylarks, four Chiffchaffs and a Reed Bunting. (Mike Smart).
