Aston Magna     A FIRECREST and two Marsh Tits at the fishing ponds today. (Jamie Brown).

Forest of Dean     A female Goosander at Woorgreens and at Parkend, nine Hawfinches (5m, 4f), and a colour ringed (yellow) Dipper on the stream near the Fountain Inn. (Terry Grant). The first Blackcap singing at Forge Hill, Lydbrook at noon. (Chris Sullivan).

Gloucester     At least 30000 Starlings roosting in the Linden area this evening. (Andy Jayne).

Frampton     On Court Lake this evening 24 Sand Martins, 27 Fieldfares, two Redwings, 95 Tufted Ducks, 26 Cormorants, 31 Greylags, nine Canada Geese, nine Great Crested Grebes, 12 Shovelers, two Gadwalls, two Teal and 14 Mallards. (Nick Goatman). At the sailing lake a Sand Martin battling into the N wind at 2:23pm. The mixed flock of 10+ Reed Buntings, 20+ Linnets and 20+ Chaffinches, three Pied Wagtails, two Chiffchaffs and a Cetti’s Warbler. On the flashes N of Splatt a Great White Egret, a Little Egret, a Marsh Harrier, two Buzzards and a Curlew. (MK).

Forest of Dean     At Mallards Pike six Goosanders (3m, 3f) and three Greylags. At Woorgreens three Goosanders (1m, 2f), 18 Mandarins, 12 Greylags, two Siskins and a Treecreeper. At Cannop by the Stone Works male and female Siskin, 2+ Coal Tits and a Great Spotted Woodpecker on the feeders. Nearby two Ravens. A Dipper behind the Fountain Inn. (Stephen Curtis & Carol Rushton). WWT Slimbridge     On South Lake three Sand Martins, 66 Black-tailed Godwits, six Cattle Egrets and 60+ Avocets. From Estuary Tower two Little Stints on the island. On the Tack Piece an adult SPOONBILL, two WHOOPER SWANS, two Bewick’s Swans and an Egyptian Goose. Frampton     On the flashes N of Splatt Bridge a Stonechat, a Marsh Harrier, a Little Egret, 12 Curlews, a Redshank and a SPOONBILL flushed by dog walkers flew towards Saul Warth. At the sailing lake 10+ Reed Buntings, 20+ Linnets and 20+ Chaffinches, a Cetti’s Warbler and two Chiffchaffs sunbathing out of the wind. (MK).

WWT Slimbridge     Around the grounds today birds included 110 White-fronted Geese, two Bewick’s Swans, two WHOOPER SWANS, 55 Gadwalls, six Stock Doves, three Water Rails, six Common Cranes, four pairs of Oystercatchers, 13 Ruff, an adult and an immature SPOONBILL, a Marsh Harrier, three Kingfishers, four Chiffchaffs, two Cetti’s Warblers, 14+ Greenfinches, 60+ Goldfinches, a Reed Bunting and a Roe Deer. Haresfield     At 10am, in the field over the B4008 from the Garden Centre, a WHEATEAR, a pair of Yellowhammers, a Kestrel and four Roe Deer. Near the church a Green Woodpecker, two Great Spotted Woodpeckers, a Nuthatch and a small group of Long-tailed Tits. (Steve Brown).

Coombe Hill Meadows     A Mute Swan, three Shelducks, 145 Wigeon, six Gadwalls, 200 Teal, 30 Mallards, six Pintails, 56 Shovelers, 16 Shelducks, six Grey Herons, six Little Egrets, six Cormorants, 14 Coots, five Moorhens, a Water Rail, two Avocets, 42 Lapwings, a Little Ringed Plover dropped in briefly, then flew on NE calling, an adult female Marsh Harrier, five Buzzards, four Curlews, two Redshanks, 71 Black-headed Gulls, 18 Herring Gulls, 48 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, a Common Gull, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, a Green Woodpecker, a Raven, a Stock Dove, five Skylark, two Cetti’s Warblers, a Blackcap, eight Chiffchaffs, two Fieldfares, ten Pied Wagtails, three Skylarks, a Bullfinch and five Reed Buntings. At sailing lake six Reed Buntings, 10+ Chaffinches, eight Linnets, three Chiffchaffs, two singing, ten Redwings and a Sparrowhawk along the southern edge. On the lake 50 Tufted Ducks, 30 Coots, two Great Crested Grebes and four Mute Swans. (MK).

Elmore Court     In the rewilding area six Teal, three Lapwings, two Snipe, a Grey Heron, a Little Egret, two Red Kite, a Barn Owl, two Little Owls heard, two Green Woodpeckers, two Kestrels, a Peregrine with prey, three Chiffchaffs, a pair of Stonechats, 100+ Greenfinches roosting and two Reed Buntings.
