Stonehouse     This morning a Green Woodpecker near the Ocean, a Little Egret with eight Cormorants in a dead tree roost, a Peregrine on a distant pylon flew off W and a Grey Heron. A Kingfisher and c8 Redwings towards Ryeford. Blackcaps again in the garden. (Paul Sutton).

Amberley     At Theescombe Lane three Blackcaps (2m, 1f) in the garden and two males both in full song. Also a singing Song Thrush and a Green Woodpecker. (Phil Williams).

Nailsworth     On the River Frome by Egypt Mill under the bridge, a Dipper and a Grey Wagtail. (Phil Williams).

Frampton pools     No sign of the Yellow-browed Warbler in a thorough search this afternoon. Both lakes almost fully iced over, 45 Greylags, 18 Teal, five Mute Swans, a pair of Ravens, 24 Redwings, a Nuthatch and two Goldcrests. (MK). Later a Cattle Egret, two Great White Egrets, 16 Little Egrets, 22 Shovelers, 51 Gadwalls, 92 Tufted Ducks, 46 Mallards, 14 Teal, two Wigeon, three Pochards, eight Great Crested Grebes, seven Little Grebes, two Water Rails, 210 Coots, three Blackcaps, a Chiffchaff and two Stonechats. Boxwell     At Boxwell Farm at least two Bramblings in a flock of c100 Chaffinches and five Greenfinches this morning. (Paul Rich).

WWT Slimbridge     The WHOOPER SWAN and 64 Bewick’s Swans on the Rushy. A Water Rail by the South Finger walkway. Two Lesser Redpolls and a Treecreeper in the Spinney wood next to Zeiss hide. 83 Golden Plovers, 16 Dunlins and 1000+ Lapwings on frozen South Lake. (Dot Jones/Tim Jukes).

Batsford     At least two Hawfinches in evergreens in the arboretum this afternoon. (Andy Graham).

Frampton     At Court Lake the YELLOW-BROWED WARBLER still at 11am. It had moved S of the jetty near an obvious stone kiln. It is more mobile and wide-ranging now and can take a bit of finding. It is still ground feeding all the time. Also seven Shovelers, 5+ Little Grebes and four Great Crested Grebes. (Paul Clark/MK). From Splatt Bridge a Marsh Harrier, a Kestrel, a Little Egret, a Mistle Thrush and 12 Linnets. At the sailing lake a male Pochard, three Reed Buntings and 15 Meadow Pipits. (MK).

Frampton     The YELLOW-BROWED WARBLER at Court Lake at SO 75169 07660 until 11:15am at least. (Peter Rodgers). No sign in a brief search this afternoon, but it was ranging a bit wider yesterday going S of the jetty to the log pile. (Andy Jayne).

WWT Slimbridge     The drake GREEN-WINGED TEAL from Zeiss hide again. A Pink-footed Goose on the Dumbles, presumed unknown origin. The SPOONBILL and a Cattle Egret on South Lake. 51 White-fronted Geese at South Finger. Eight Common Cranes on the Tack Piece. (Paul Masters/Ed Betteridge/Slimbridge Sightings).

Newnham-on-Severn     This morning at 9:30am a Ring-necked Parakeet was calling and feeding seemingly on the mistletoe berries in the trees next to the A48 and by the riverside picnic area. It was occasionally flying across into the riverside pine tree. (Jeff Wheeler).

Tewkesbury     At Mythe Hook two Mute Swans, 100 Greylags, 150 Canada Geese, 250 Wigeon, 20 Teal, 40 Mallards, ten Pintails, 20 Shovelers, three Tufted Ducks, eight Lapwings, 20 Black-headed Gulls, two Pied Wagtails, 400 Jackdaws and 20 Carrion Crows today. (Mike Smart).

Twyning     At Upham Meadow two Greylags, 257 Canada Geese, a Canada x Greylag hybrid and two Stonechats today. (Mike Smart).

Leckhampton Hill     A mixed flock of c300 Fieldfares and Redwings at Hartley Farm. (Steve Brown).

Elkstone     Along the minor road from The Studios to Colesbourne a mixed flock of 200 mostly Chaffinches and Yellowhammers and a few Goldfinches on game cover, three Ravens and a Buzzard. (Steve Brown).

Hazleton     At the bend N of the village two Bramblings with 30 Chaffinches. (Steve Brown).

Duntisbourne Rouse     A male MERLIN chasing a flock of c200 Linnets. Also at least two Bramblings in the Chaffinch flock on the Macmillan Way this morning. (Andrew Morrison).

Coombe Hill Meadows     Heavily flooded once again, and access along the towpath from the south side is not possible (unless you have thigh waders) so you have to approach the site from the northern Apperley side. Birds today included four Canada Geese, 200 Wigeon, 500 Teal, 50 Mallards, 50 Pintails, 50 Shovelers, two Cormorants, a Buzzard, ten Coots, 500+ Woodpigeons and three Chiffchaffs. (Mike Smart).

Chavenage Lane      A female MERLIN flew over, heading south. Also 4+ Red Kites, 80+ Redwings, 35 + Fieldfares, five Buzzards and a female Sparrowhawk today. (Terry Grant).

Maisemore    A family of five WHOOPER SWANS again at the Leadon Meadows near Maisemore today. Also 15 Shovelers, 30 Wigeon, 33 Mallards, 50+ Pintails, 50+ Teal, two Jays and 80+ Redwings. (Andy Jayne).

Highnam    A walk from Highnam Court to the woods produced a fly-over Great White Egret, a Woodcock, a Sparrowhawk, a Green Woodpecker, 60+ Skylarks, five Marsh Tits, five Nuthatches, two Treecreepers, 60 Redwings, 50 Fieldfares, a Hawfinch, 20 Greenfinches, 120 Chaffinches and six Siskins. Churcham    A Great White Egret in flight at 1pm, presumably the same individual seen over Highnam Woods much earlier. A Sparrowhawk, Green Woodpecker, at least one Hawfinch and a fly-over Brambling at Churcham church. (Andy Jayne).

Purton     This afternoon five Little Grebes, at least two Fieldfares and 40+ Redwings in fields near the swing bridges. 2+ Mistle Thrushes and 3+ Bullfinches along the canal hedge. (Mike Davis).

Chavenage Lane area     550+ Redwings, 130+ Fieldfares, 120+ Chaffinches, 11+ Buzzards, seven Ravens, 8+ Red Kites and 10000+ Wood Pigeons near Chavenage House being harassed by a Peregrine. (Terry Grant).

Wotton-Under-Edge     Two Marsh Tits along with 12 Coal Tits and two Nuthatches at the bird feeding station in Westridge Woods. (Mike Fisher).

Cheltenham     At 10am a Peregrine perched on the top of Christ Church calling then joined by a second Peregrine carrying prey (pigeon sp) which landed lower down the tower and started to feed. (David Norman).

Dowdeswell Reservoir     A Woodcock, two Ravens, seven Goldfinches and two Siskins and two Cormorants this afternoon. (Tom Mabbett).

WWT Slimbridge    The drake GREEN-WINGED TEAL from the Van de Bovenkamp hide again today. The Little Stint was on the Rushy this morning with c300 Dunlins and two Ruffs, also the WHOOPER SWAN, a Black Swan and 67 Bewick’s Swans. A Cattle Egret flew in to South Lake at 2:40pm, also a female Goldeneye, a male Mandarin, a Grey Wagtail and a juvenile Peregrine. Chedworth     Garden birds today included nine Jackdaws, 16 Woodpigeons, a Coal Tit, seven Long-tailed Tits, a pair of Bullfinches on Marjoram and a Barn Owl hunting through at dusk. The first garden sighting for 2 years. (Harvey Sherwood).

Moreton Valence     A Green Sandpiper flew from a ditch between the church and Parkend today. (Annie Heron).

Coombe Hill Meadows     A drake RING-NECKED DUCK this morning, until a Marsh Harrier flew through at 11:15am. No further sign by 1:30pm but could still be on site as there are many places where it could be out of sight. The Grundon hide is closed, please view only from the towpath. Longney Crib     This afternoon a Common Sandpiper, two Stonechat, three Fieldfares, five Goldfinches, 37 Rooks, a Shelduck, two Mallards, two Grey Herons, a Cormorant, a Buzzard, 37 Rooks, eight Carrion Crows, 300 Black-headed Gulls, 35 Lesser Black-backed Gulls and nine Herring Gull’s. Also a large dog Fox. (John Fletcher).

Gloucester    The pair of Stonechats still present on Sudmeadow and a garden Grey Wagtail at Hempsted this afternoon. (Gord Avery).

Tewkesbury     At Mythe Hook birds included two Mute Swans, five Greylags, 40 Canada Geese, 73 Wigeon, 50 Mallards, three Pintails, two Shovelers, a Little Grebe, two Grey Heron, a Marsh Harrier through mobbed by two Carrion Crows, 255 Lapwings, 150 Jackdaws, 20 Carrion Crows and a Reed Bunting. Cotswold Water Park East    The escaped Scarlet Ibis still on flooded fields past Pit 114. 15 Chiffchaffs at Kempsford Sewage Works this morning. (Duncan Dine).
