Whittington     This morning on the track N of Whittington to Whitehall Farm a pair of Redstarts, a Song Thrush and a Red Kite. Butterflies seen included Small Blue, Small Heath, Small Tortoiseshell, Marbled White and many Meadow Browns. (Keith White).

Ashleworth Ham     A CES ringing session this morning caught 61 birds including two juvenile Redstarts, a juvenile Grasshopper Warbler, four Sedge Warblers, 15 Whitethroats, two Lesser Whitethroats, four Song Thrushes, two Linnets, a Bullfinch and nine Reed Buntings. Shipton Oliffe     Two Swifts with c15 House Martins, four Swallows, a Green Woodpecker, two Red Kites, a Buzzard, a pair of Linnets, a Yellowhammer and a Whitethroat. (Steve Brown).

Epney/Framilode     Early morning three Cuckoos (2m, 1f) over the fields and then around Framilode church. Other birds included Blackcap, Whitethroat, Linnet, Chaffinch, Song Thrush, Jay, Meadow Pipit, Grey Heron, Buzzard, Chiffchaff, Swallow, House Martin and Stock Dove. On the river Grey Heron, Little Egret and Shelducks. Bentham     Birds today included a Chaffinch, five Song Thrushes, two Chiffchaffs, four Whitethroats, a Lesser Whitethroat, two Greenfinches, a Stock Dove, three Linnets, a Blackcap, two Green Woodpeckers and two Swallows. Hasfield Ham     This afternoon about half a mile down the lane a QUAIL flushed from the side of the track which flew to a hay field on the right. Also a Redstart, plenty of Whitethroats , Reed Buntings, Goldfinches, family parties of Blue Tits, Long-tailed Tits, Great Tits, Bullfinches and a pair of Curlews. (Steve Rickard).

Frampton     At Splatt Bridge this morning a Common Tern, a Cuckoo, two Cetti’s Warblers and two Bullfinches. At the sailing lake a Common Tern, 20+ Swifts, a Cetti’s Warbler and a pair of Great Crested Grebes with a juvenile. (MK).

Cleeve Hill     A Red Kite, a Buzzard, Meadow Pipits, Linnet and Skylarks today. (Alan McIlquham).

Frampton     A HOOPOE flew over the sailing lake towards the Sailing Club at 7:45am and was heard calling but not relocated today. This evening five Cattle Egrets, four Little Egrets, a baby Tawny Owl and 50+ Swifts on Court Lake. (Nick Goatman).

Cleeve Hill     This afternoon five Corn Buntings, one on the track between the Common and Wontley Farm and four on West Down. A Tree Pipit on the track between Wontley Farm and the Common. Other species included Yellowhammer, Meadow Pipit, Skylark, Stonechat, a Red Kite, a Kestrel and a Buzzard. (Ed Kennerley).

Stroud     At Frome Banks N.R. today a Firecrest, a Goldcrest, a Bullfinch, a Song Thrush, a Dipper, a Buzzard bathing and an Otter. (Gerard Doran).
