Fromebridge     Two Green Sandpipers flew up from the River Frome at Fromebridge Mill this morning, seen initially from the car park, then later a bit further down the river. Also two Curlews and a Kingfisher along the river. (Sue Beynon).

along the canal towpath, so the only approach possible is from the northern

Elmore Court     In the rewilding area this afternoon birds included a Yellowhammer, a scarce bird in the Vale and species No 103 for the site, four Stonechats, 40+ Linnets, a Snipe, a Little Egret, four Kestrels, four Great Spotted Woodpeckers, two Green Woodpeckers, five Goldcrests, two Reed Buntings and a Cetti’s Warbler. Frampton     At Court Lake the YELLOW-BROWED WARBLER still at 11am. It had moved S of the jetty near an obvious stone kiln. It is more mobile and wide-ranging now and can take a bit of finding. Churcham    A Great White Egret in flight at 1pm, presumably the same individual seen over Highnam Woods much earlier. A Sparrowhawk, Green Woodpecker, at least one Hawfinch and a fly-over Brambling at Churcham church. (Andy Jayne).

Purton     This afternoon five Little Grebes, at least two Fieldfares and 40+ Redwings in fields near the swing bridges. 2+ Mistle Thrushes and 3+ Bullfinches along the canal hedge. (Mike Davis).
