Frampton pools     A RICHARD’S PIPIT flew over low calling heading SE at 9:30am. This evening 51 Cattle Egrets, three Great White Egrets and 31 Little Egrets roosted at Court Lake. Around the pools two Bramblings, three Siskins, five Chiffchaffs, 31 Redwings, three Fieldfares, three Mistle Thrushes, 50 Tufted Ducks, five Gadwalls, a Shoveler, two Pochards, 220 Coots, 44 Cormorants and a Yellow-legged Gull. WWT Slimbridge     A first-winter CURLEW SANDPIPER on the Tack Piece and the first three BEWICK’S SWANS of the winter. Also a Little Stint, a Spotted Redshank and two Marsh Harriers. Saul Warth     Early morning no tide 48 Shelducks, 88 Curlews, 150 Avocets, 20 Dunlins, eight Cormorants, four Grey Herons, a Great White Egret, three Little Egrets, a Sparrowhawk, a Kestrel, a Marsh Harrier tried to hunt at Hock Ditch but was evicted by Crows, seven Fieldfares, two Pied Wagtails, 14 Meadow Pipits and three Chiffchaffs. Coombe Hill Meadows     90 Greylags, 60 Wigeon, 60 Teal, 150 Mallards, 20 Pintails, five Shovelers, a Grey Heron, two Buzzards, a Lapwing, three Snipe, 20 Skylarks, ten Pied Wagtails, six Meadow Pipits, 20 Fieldfares, 200 Starlings, 200 Jackdaws, 20 Carrion Crows, 40 Goldfinches, five Greenfinches and a Reed Bunting. Cotswold Water Park East     The escaped Scarlet Ibis again in flooded fields adjacent to Pit 114. It has been present in the east of the County since August 2024 at least. (Duncan Dine).

Nailsworth     From the garden in Walkley Wood/Shortwood today six Ravens together mid morning, 35 Siskins, five Redpolls, two Red Kites, four Buzzards, two Sparrowhawks, two Marsh Tits, male and female Blackcap, a Chiffchaff and 50+ Redwings in to roost. (Jon Haw).

Stonehouse     In the Bond’s Mill area late afternoon a Kingfisher near Nutshell Bridge, three Cormorants at the Ocean, a Red Kite very high over St Cyr’s church drifting NW towards Doverow Hill, two more Cormorants at Bond’s Mill, two Jays and a Chiffchaff. (Paul Sutton).

WWT Slimbridge     A BITTERN from Zeiss hide and a two Marsh Harriers from the Estuary Tower. (Dot Jones). Three Snipe and a Cetti’s Warbler on the scrape from Martin Smith hide. 52 Black-tailed Godwits, 25 Redshanks, a Spotted Redshank, ten Ruff, 500+ Golden Plovers, 100+ Dunlins, 31 Curlews and three Common Cranes on the Tack Piece. WWT Slimbridge     A female Goosander landed on South Lake at 11:15am. (Geoff Moyser). Two redhead Goosanders briefly on the Top New Piece at 11:30am. (Tan Grigg/Paul Masters). From Estuary Tower, birds included three Marsh Harriers, two Peregrines on the Dumbles, a Buzzard, a Kestrel, a male Sparrowhawk on the Tack Piece fence, a Ross’s Goose with Barnacle Geese, 13 Common Cranes, a Snipe, six Curlews, three juvenile White-fronted Geese, four Chiffchaffs, six Long-Tailed Tits, a Goldcrest and a female Blackcap. Tresham     A late Wheatear feeding in the field on the right just before the barn as you drive towards the village. From the gate in the hedge it was not very far from the wall, and c30-40 yards from the piles of soil and rubbish at the rear of the barns. Also four Red Kites and many Skylarks. (Terry Grant).

Chavenage Lane area     300+ Skylarks, 16 Corn Buntings, six Red Kites and four Stonechats today. (Terry Grant).

WWT Slimbridge     A male MERLIN from the Estuary Tower at 2:40pm flew low carrying prey towards Zeiss hide. Also around the Trust today up to 2000 Golden Plovers, 1000 Dunlins, 25 Black-tailed Godwits, ten Snipe, ten Ruff, 44 Redshanks, a Spotted Redshank, a Green Sandpiper, two Marsh Harriers, a Sparrowhawk, a Peregrine, 4+ Chiffchaffs and a Blackcap. Gloucester     Yesterday the male BLACK REDSTART returned to Manu Marble Way in Linden. (per MK).

Saul Warth     Mid morning, no tide, 15 Curlews, eight Lapwings flew S, 60 Shelducks, four Grey Herons, a Great White Egret, three Little Egrets, a Common Gull, a Sparrowhawk, a Kestrel, a Chiffchaff, three Mistle Thrushes and four Meadow Pipits. (MK).

Cotswold Water Park East    A Marsh Harrier flew by the River Coln/Pit 104 this afternoon. Two Great White Egrets have been present on the River Coln with Cattle Egret and Little Egret during the past few months and two Kingfishers. (Jonathan Stebbing).

Ashleworth Ham     207 Mallards, 13 Wigeon, 22 Teal, two Shovelers, two Gadwalls, a male Pintail, two Snipe, a male Stonechat, three Chaffinches, seven Fieldfares, a Long-tailed Tit, two Grey Herons, a Peregrine and four Roe Deer today. (John Fletcher).

WWT Slimbridge     A MERLIN on the Tack Piece fence and 13 White-fronted Geese on the Tack Piece. At least eight Sanderlings and a Little Stint with the Dunlin flock on Dumbles. WWT Slimbridge     A MERLIN showed very well from Estuary Tower, after an early morning chase after Skylarks. (Ian Hull/Geoff Moyser). At high tide six Sanderlings and three Little Stints amongst a 900 strong Dunlin flock. Two Mediterranean Gulls on South Lake. (Martin McGill). WWT Slimbridge     The TEMMINCK’S STINT still on the Rushy today. The YELLOW-BROWED WARBLER in the Estuary Walkway withy bed, close to the tunnel/new path. It was calling and showed briefly. (Roberta Goodall). At 9:38am a MERLIN briefly on the cross fence then flew towards the Tack Piece then seen again briefly at 10:14am. (Oliver Paisey). A KITTIWAKE flew downriver with Black-headed Gulls mid-morning seen from Zeiss hide. (David Creber). 12 White-fronted Geese on the Tack Piece. (Ian Ralphs).

Frampton pools     A mixed flock of 81 Cattle Egrets and Little Egrets came in to roost, two Great White Egrets, four Grey Herons, 1500+ Woodpigeons, a Crossbill, ten Great Crested Grebes, eight Pochards, 29 Cormorants, five Shovelers, three Teal, two Wigeon, 24 Tufted Ducks, 42 Mute Swans, 16 Redwings, three Stonechats, three singing Chiffchaffs and a Blackcap. Saul Warth     Between 7-9:30am 225 Avocets, 66 Curlews, a Bar-tailed Godwit, 50 Dunlins, 29 Shelducks, 15 Wigeon, 27 Teal, 1850 Woodpigeons flew E, seven Grey Herons, a Great White Egret, a Little Egret, a Peregrine, three Kestrels, a singing Chiffchaff, a Fieldfare, a Mistle Thrush, six Skylarks and a Reed Bunting. Forest of Dean     At least 3500 Woodpigeons this morning in a couple of hours, also a small passage of Bramblings, Chaffinches and Redpoll over, 20 Crossbills, small flocks of Redwings and 30 Fieldfares. (Rob Husbands).

Nailsworth     A flock of 800+ Redwings flew W over Windsoredge, followed by a flock of 30+ just before mist obscured further viewing at 7:55am. Between 7:30am and 8am 1250+ Woodpigeons flew S. (Terry Grant).

Colesbourne     On the first Km of the bridle path E of the village, a Sparrowhawk, four Red Kites, two Buzzards, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, 40 Fieldfares over, a Mistle Thrush and a Song Thrush both singing, two Skylarks, a Marsh Tit, two Nuthatches, 13 Linnets, a Yellowhammer, a Crossbill and a few Siskins heard, three Ravens and two Jays. Witcombe Reservoirs     WeBS count today 25 Greylags, 312 Mallards, five Tufted Ducks, two Grey Herons, six Cormorants, eight Moorhens, two Herring Gulls, a Common Gull, 35 Black-headed Gulls and a Pied Wagtail. (Gord Avery).

Shab Hill     A Buzzard, three Golden Plovers, male and female Stonechat, c300 Chaffinches and a few Greenfinches feeding on sunflower heads (game crop), three Yellowhammers and 5+ Skylarks. (Gord Avery).

Gloucester     At 8am this morning 650 Woodpigeons flew S-SW over Hemmingsdale mainly in two flocks. (Gord Avery).

Dowdeswell Reservoir     A Reed Bunting, a Chiffchaff, two Grey Herons, 17 Moorhens, a pair of Mallards, a Meadow Pipit, three Red Kites circling together, a Buzzard, a Marsh Tit, c10 Long-tailed Tits, two Cormorants and a Grey Wagtail. (Tom Mabbett).

Elmore Court     In the rewilding area this morning ten Stonechats, 12 Reed Buntings, 22 Skylarks, 15 Meadow Pipits, two Blackcaps, five Stock Doves, two Green Woodpeckers, two Grey Herons, three Buzzards, two Kestrels and two Ravens. Also a Fox and three Roe Deer. (Steve Pullen).

Uley     Five Buzzards and a Red Kite over Crawley valley, a Grey Wagtail on Fiery Lane, a Kingfisher and 12 Mallards on the millpond behind Grist Mill, two Grey Herons and a Greenfinch in the field behind Owlpen Farm lake and 30 Mallards on the small lake by Fiery Lane farm. (Tim Thompson).

Stonehouse     In the Stanley Downton/Bond’s Mill area seven Chiffchaffs, several Goldcrests, a small flock of Goldfinches, small numbers of Chaffinches and mixed tit flocks including Long-tailed Tits, Blue Tits and Great Tits, two Greenfinches, two Grey Herons, four Cormorants, a Little Grebe, a Kingfisher from Nutshell Bridge to the Ocean, a pair of Jays, 20 Magpies, 250+ Woodpigeons SW and a Buzzard. Ashleworth Ham     A ringing session this morning caught 39 birds including a Stonechat, four Redwings, three Chiffchaffs, a Goldcrest, two Treecreepers and two Reed Buntings. Rodley     A Water Rail this morning on the river bank at 8:20am as the tide was coming in, calling for a good few minutes very close but not seen. (Rachel Thomas).
