Cleeve Hill    Between 9:40-11:15am birds included  12 Stonechats, 60 Fieldfares, 15 Redwings, a Crossbill over. 15 Meadow Pipits, 12 Linnets, eight Yellowhammers, two Corn Buntings, 15 Goldfinches, 25 Skylarks and a Red Kite. (Tom Mabbett).

Frampton pools     40+ Cattle Egrets came into roost, also a Great White Egret 12 Little Egrets, 140 Wigeon, 96 Mallards, 55 Tufted Ducks, 47 Cormorants, 52 Shovelers, 37 Teal, 39 Gadwalls, five Pochards, a Green Sandpiper, five Chiffchaffs, 30+ Siskins, 200+ Linnets. 20+ Greenfinches, 50+ Goldfinches and three Grey Wagtails. (Nick Goatman). At least 255 Fieldfares NW through Splatt Bridge this morning, also a Rock Pipit N and Ring-necked Parakeet high S. (Gordon Hodgson).

Lydney harbour     An adult CASPIAN GULL and an adult Yellow-legged Gull this afternoon. (Jeremy Squire).

Saul Warth     At dawn, no tide, 175+ Avocets, four Bar-tailed Godwits, eight Grey Plovers, four Ringed Plovers, 114 Curlews, 100 Dunlins, 63 Shelducks, 300+ Teal, a female Pintail, 12 Common Cranes on the mud, three Great White Egrets, 12 Little Egrets, seven Grey Herons, two Chiffchaffs, a male Blackcap, ten Pied Wagtails, 12 Meadow Pipits and a Reed Bunting. Hawling-Guiting Power area     On a circular walk from Hawling N towards Ford and back via Guiting Power, including in fields N of Hawling birds included c200 Golden Plovers, c500 Linnets, c100 Chaffinches, c5 Yellowhammers, four Corn Buntings, c50 Fieldfares and c20 Redwings and further N on the walk a Brambling, a Goshawk over, two Crossbills, two Meadow Pipits, four Redpolls, five Siskins and a Water Rail calling at SP083259. Forest of Dean     At Woorgreens a Brambling, Redpolls, Siskins, a Skylark, a Goldcrest, a Chaffinch, a Raven, a Goshawk and a Buzzard. (Jeff Wheeler).

Frampton     This evening four Cattle Egrets, ten Little Egrets, four Great White Egrets, seven Grey Herons and 55 Cormorants roosted at Court Lake. Also a Green Sandpiper, five Little Grebes, 41 Pochards, two Ravens and three Chiffchaffs. (Nick Goatman).

Longney Crib     Mid afternoon male and female Stonechat, two Grey Herons, two Little Egrets, a Cormorant, six Pied Wagtails, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, two Ravens, 200+ Black-headed Gulls and 25+ Carrion Crows. (John Fletcher).

Cheltenham     The last few days three Mandarins (2m, 1f) on the pump room lake at Pittville Park. Also a resident Cormorant, a Grey Heron and three Grey Wagtails covering both lakes. (Alan McIlquham).

Saul Warth     From dawn, no tide 185 Avocets, four Bar-tailed Godwits, 106 Curlews, 20 Dunlins, 21 Sheducks, 390 Teal, 14 Wigeon, 21 Common Cranes distant on the mud, a Great White Egret, four Little Egrets, eight Grey Herons, four Chiffchaffs, a Goldcrest, 37 Pied Wagtails on new plough behind the sewage works, 20 Meadow Pipits and a Reed Bunting. Forest of Dean     A ringing session today in the Kensley pools area E of Woorgreens reserve caught 170 Lesser Redpolls and a Green Woodpecker. A juvenile male Sparrowhawk caught here yesterday. Also the first Redwings of season in small groups. (Rob Husbands).

Guscar Rocks/Aylburton Warth     At high tide 60 Greylags, 190 Canada Geese, seven Shelducks, 22 Wigeon, 120 Teal, seven Mallards, two Cormorants, ten Grey Herons, two Oystercatchers, 12 Golden Plovers, 11 Lapwings, 455 Curlews, 35 Redshanks, 560 Black-headed Gulls, 20 Common Gulls, 50 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 60 Herring Gulls, 20 Skylarks, 20 Meadow Pipits, a Raven and 30 Linnets. WWT Slimbridge     This morning a BITTERN in the reeds just in front of Zeiss hide. Two GLOSSY IBISES still present in front of the Martin Smith hide along with a Green Sandpiper. (Jeff Wheeler).

Ashleworth Ham     A ringing session caught 17 birds, including two Chiffchaffs, a Treecreeper and a Reed Bunting. On the reserve eight Greylags and three Canada Geese over, five Mallards, a Red Kite, three Buzzards, a Peregrine, three Tawny Owls calling at first light, 20 Skylark going over high, two Ravens and five Goldfinches. WWT Slimbridge     A Peregrine took a LEACH’S PETREL off of Middle Point at 10:30am. A MERLIN from Zeiss hide at 1:35pm. An adult Mediterranean Gull on South Lake. (Andy Jayne). WWT Slimbridge     From Middle Point a Little Stint, a Curlew Sandpiper, 120 Avocets, 18 Grey Plovers, 12 Bar-tailed Godwits, 350 Golden Plovers, seven Ruff, 300 Dunlins, 70 Ringed Plovers, a juvenile Marsh Harrier and a SPOONBILL. (Ian Ralphs). 8-9 Redwings flew over the summer walkway towards the river. On the Top New Piece at least one Curlew Sandpiper and a Little Stint. (Roberta Goodall).

Tewkesbury     At Lower Lode brick-pits four Mute Swans, three Mandarins, 20 Wigeon, ten Teal, ten Mallards, a Great White Egret, a Grey Heron, four Coots, 30 Black -headed Gulls and five Skylarks over. A Cetti’s Warbler singing across the river on Severn Ham. (Mike Smart).
