Frampton     An OSPREY moved N from WWT then over Frampton Green towards Court Lake then NW over Saul at 1:50pm. (Gordon Hodgson/Gordon Kirk).Pic by Gord H. At the pools this morning two Cuckoos, nine Common Terns, 20+ Swifts, 20 Blackcaps, 22 Chiffchaffs, nine Whitethroats, two Sand Martins, two Yellow Wagtails and a Garden Warbler. (Nick Goatman).Osprey 160516Epney     The ICELAND GULL still this morning at 11:20am. (Rare Bird Alert).

WWT Slimbridge     A summer-plumaged CURLEW SANDPIPER and 18 Dunlins on the Top New Piece and a red Knot, a male Ruff with a white ruff and three Greenshanks on the Bottom New Piece today. (@slimbridge_wild).

Forest of Dean     At Nagshead this morning five Pied Flycatchers, four Spot Flycatchers, a Wood Warbler, a Tree Pipit, a Firecrest and a sleeping Nightjar. (Andrew Mason). Also a Treecreeper, a Green Woodpecker, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, a Jay and a pair of Grey Wagtails, three Redstarts heard singing from the Lower hide. In the area within the Mallard’s Pike running trail a Cuckoo, a Wood Warbler, two Tree Pipits and several Siskins. (Steve Brown). Also at Nagshead a Hawfinch, a Raven, two Treecreepers and a Kingfisher. (John Fletcher).

Ashleworth Ham    Three Little Egrets, three Lapwings, 8+ Blackcaps, four Redstarts, two Great Spotted Woodpeckers, six Chiffchaffs, 12+ Sedge Warblers, a Curlew,  two Cuckoos, three Bullfinches, a drake Wigeon, a pair of Shelducks with three ducklings, 15+ Whitethroats, a drake Teal , 8+ Willow Warblers, three Red-legged Partridges, 10+ Skylarks, four Stock Doves, 5+ Reed Buntings, 21+ House Martins, an Oystercatcher, a Lesser Whitethroat, two Swallows, a Grey Heron, a Raven and a Nuthatch. Tirley     A Tawny Owl calling at 4am. (Mark Grieve).

Tewkesbury     Five Swifts and six House Martins over the High Street today.(Mark Grieve).

Deerhurst Walton     A Red Kite and a Buzzard flew low over the road today. (Mark Grieve).

My name is Mike King and have lived all my life in Gloucestershire. I am happiest birding around Frampton but I especially love Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
