Bussage     12 WAXWINGS this morning at 9am in the small berry tree next to the bus stop opposite the primary school for at least half an hour. (Martine Fenn).

Bourton-on-the-Water     Still three WAXWINGS trying to visit the berry tree at 3:15pm outside Pegasus Court by Moor Lane but two Mistle Thrushes were chasing them off. (Ewan Urquhart). 100+ Redwings in the grounds of The Cotswold School today. (Rachel Rosborough).

Chaxhill     25 WAXWINGS beside the A48 at 2:40pm today. (Pete Grimmitt).

Forest of Dean     At Crown Lane, Parkend a minimum of 17 Hawfinches spread out under the yews with five females and one male (briefly) under the first yew at the start of the lane and a minimum of 11 under the yews at the far end of the green. (Ewan Urquhart). Pic by Ewan.hawfinch-100217

Cotswold Water Park West     At Shorncote Reedbed from 4:45pm until dark two Little Egrets, 4-5 calling Water Rails, c200 Lapwings in flight, four Snipe, a Kingfisher, a Barn Owl hunting from 5:35pm, 100+ Redwings/Fieldfares, two Mistle Thrushes and three singing Cetti’s Warblers. (Jon Mercer).

WWT Slimbridge     Two BITTERNS showed well from the South Finger hides today. (Slimbridge Sightings).

Edgeworth    15-20 Bramblings with finch flock in set-aside between Edgeworth and Duntisbourne late morning. Also 50+ Linnets and 40+ Chaffinches. (Jon Mercer). Pic by Jon.brambling-100217

Coombe Hill Meadows     On today’s WeBS count birds included 2255 Wigeon including the leucistic bird, 450 Teal, six Gadwalls, 39 Mallards, 67 Pintails, 12 Shovelers, two Tufted Ducks, a Little Egret, a Grey Heron, 800 Lapwings and a Black-tailed Godwit. (David Anderson).

Cobney Meadows     On today’s WeBS count birds included 20 Canada Geese, 40 Wigeon, 250 Teal, 30 Mallards, a Shoveler, 130 Lapwings and 12 Pied Wagtails. (Mike Smart).

Ashleworth Ham     On today’s WeBS count birds included seven Mute Swans, two Greylags, 150 Canada Geese, 1300 Wigeon, 470 Teal, 13 Gadwalls, 40 Mallards, 210 Pintails, 25 Shovelers, two Shelducks, five Tufted Ducks, two Grey Herons, 25 Coot, 500 Lapwings, seven Snipe and a male Stonechat. Calcot     A Barn Owl between Calcot and Kingscote at 4:43pm hunting on set-aside land. (Tom Weston-McClung).

Cheltenham    This morning just before midday, a Little Egret flew low over the Whole Foods Market in the Gallagher Retail Park, headed NW. (David Norman).

Stroud     A Little Grebe on the Stroudwater Canal near Lodgemore Lane this morning at 9:20am at SO845050. (Duerden Cormack).
