Highnam Woods     Nine Nightingales singing this morning. (Dave Owen).

Frampton     At Splatt Bridge a Marsh Harrier flying along the bank this morning. Also 12+ Swifts, four Redshanks, a Cuckoo and two Whimbrels. At the Sailing Lake nine Common Terns, an immature LITTLE GULL, a Kingfisher, 20+ Swifts and four Great Crested Grebes. (John Fletcher/Martin Greenish). Saul Warth     12 Whimbrels, 14 Canada Geese and 23 Shelducks at Hock Ditch this morning. (John Fletcher/Martin Greenish). Also a Cuckoo calling near the fishing lake at Church Lane. (Roberta Goodall).

WWT Slimbridge     A Cuckoo singing in the Decoy and Grounds and regular singing males at South Finger and at the North end of the reserve today. (Slimbridge Sightings). Five  first-summer Mediterranean Gulls on the Rushy this evening at 6:45pm. (Richard Hearn).

Tewkesbury     A Cuckoo singing at Puckrup Hall near to the cricket ground today. (David Urwin).

My name is Mike King and have lived all my life in Gloucestershire. I am happiest birding around Frampton but I especially love Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. I have birded all over Europe, in the U.S.A. and Canada, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Costa Rica, Belize, Mexico, Dominican Republic, The Gambia, Cape Verde, South Africa and most recently Zimbabwe and Botswana.
