Forest of Dean At Nagshead from Lower Hide a Kingfisher, a Redstart, three Grey Wagtails (1f, 2 juvs), a Great Spotted Woodpecker, a Goshawk calling repeatedly and two Stock Doves. A Peregrine heard begging, audible for much of the morning in the car park and a Silver-washed Fritillary. (Steve Brown). At Abenhall this morning a Hawfinch flying into broadleaf woodland, three Ravens, a male Sparrowhawk, 20+ Swifts, 20+ House Martins, a Hobby, six Buzzards, a Whitethroat and a Green Woodpecker. Newnham-on-Severn Sedge Warblers, Goldfinches, a pair of Bullfinches, Pied Wagtails, Swallows and House Martins. Also Small and Large White, Ringlet, Comma and Gatekeeper butterflies. (Chris & Phil Andrews).
Symonds Yat At Yat Rock a WHITE ADMIRAL in the car park and from the viewpoint early afternoon much activity from the Peregrines, a Goshawk, a Hobby, a Red Kite, a Sparrowhawk, four Ravens, several Buzzards, a Green Woodpecker,Swifts, Swallows and House Martins. Also a female Club-Tailed Dragonfly, a White-legged Damselfly, a Hummingbird Hawk Moth, Red Admirals, Large and Small Whites, a Holly Blue, Speckled Wood, two Silver-washed Fritillaries and a Fallow Deer.(Steve Brown/Chris & Phil Andrews).
